This, from the article, regarding the sand:

Is it unusual to add silica to food? Yes. Is it dangerous? Probably not. The mineral actually occurs naturally in all sorts of foods like vegetables and milk.

This reminds me of the thread where people were surprised that there was ammonia added to some ground beef to "preserve" it. That didn't really surprise me, and neither does this. I always assume there's some disgusting shit in fast food.

Occuring naturally is one thing.. Adding shit to beef so it "ships better" is disturbing

"I told you guys"

or the classic -

"Another thread dedicated to the chemicals in food that I have been trying to tell all of you for years."

Gary - just pick one - copy and paste - I made it easy on you.

He isn't always right, but I think he is right on this topic.....

Substitute salad without dressing and ice water in place of fast food and a soft drink for lunch, and many of use would be wearing only 1 chin again for the first time since high school. JMO......

No, many of us would have a gun to our temple.

Why not just chew on the morning lawn?

Now, I certainly agree that fast food is shit, but you are going to the other extreme.

I'm the pickiest eater there is. I hate salad dressing, so cutting it out isn't hard for me. :142smilie

Gary usually goes with something like that, but add in a little more judgment and alot more annoying. Something like . . . .

"My pescatarian diet looks smarter by the day."

"My pescatarian diet seems like a better idea every day."
