Where it is real F ing COLD
Going back down to milwaukee in a month when the Twins roll in. I am always the grill guy and this time I want to make something different.. I am good but I want to kick it up a notch. Anybody got something really good ideas with lots of flavor but not just HOT..... It also has to be kind of a quick prep or an overnight marinade.. Thinking of good ribs and chicken.. No brats or burgers. Asking in advance so I can try it out at home.. I don't want to dissappoint.

Above the Clouds....
Here's a recipe for Jerk Chichen I use all the time and everyone likes it. It's not hot just a slight warmth.

1 envelope of Italian salad dressing ( I use Zesty)
2 Tbl brown sugar
2 Tbl Soy Sauce
1 teas Cinnamon
1 teas Thyme
1/2 teas Cayanne pepper

I cut boneless chicken breasts in pieces and marinate for 24 hours. I have doubled this and it works just fine. Enjoy.

Make a homemade meatloaf, whatever you like. Everyone has their own flavor they put into a meatloaf. I marinade mine very light mix with A1 and worcester sauce. Patty those sons a bitches, throw em on the flame and Grill the shit out of them. Serve it on bun with a side of homemade mac and cheese and get the party started!

whatever you do to your chicken, just add rosemary to it. Stuff the rosemary under the skin, and let it cook. It adds the best flavor, and it's super easy.

Try marinating skinless chicken thighs overnight in the Chinese barbeque sauce that comes in a packet. This is the same stuff they use on the little ribs that you see in Chinese restaurants. Cook the chicken off to the the side of your fire and thank me later.

The recipe will easily coat 4-5 chicken breasts. I usually cut each breast into 3 pieces and marinate in a plastic bag overnite. 4 hours will work though.

You could also use bone in chicken parts too. Works just as well.

I like grilled potatoes as a side dish. Easy, but take time to cook. You can mix everything up at home to save time.

Cut up a bunch of potatoes. (Since this is for guys, I should probably add that you should wash all veggies before you eat them. They have pesticides and bird droppings on the outside.) Leave the skins on or cut them off, but they are healthier with the skins on.

Cut up one or two onions and two to four bell peppers into 1/2 inch square pieces. Put all of that into a big bowl with a lid. Add a half cup of extra virgin olive oil. Shake to coat the potatoes and mix in the onions and peppers. Pour it all into a disposable aluminum pan. Cover with cheese. Put on the grill until the potatoes are soft. Takes at least an hour to cook. (You could bake it half way at home, then cool it.)

If you like spicy add a jalapeno pepper with the onion.

You can also add Lipton onion soup mix, chili spice mix or even those jerk chicken spices if you like.

Don't forget dessert.

Pour a large can of apple pie filling in a dutch oven. Sprinke a box of jiffy cake mix over the top (Jiffy comes in a small box, maybe 3 by five inches. Use either white or yellow cake.) Cut up a stick of butter and put that on top. Put the lid on the dutch oven and cook ont he grill for about half an hour, until the cake turns nice a brown. Delicious.
