The Gauchos and Cal State Northridge have played 35 times in a series that began in 1960. While UCSB holds a 26-9 lead all-time, the Matadors won the first game between the schools this season, 88-84 on Jan. 5 in Santa Barbara. In that game, Northridge overcame a 13-point second half deficit to record the win. The victory by the Matadors ended a three-game UCSB winning streak in the series. The Gauchos have won the last two games played at the Matadome, including a 67-57 win on Jan. 25, 2007.
