Once again I'm putting myself in the Red Sox dugout tonight. If they lose, I have lost as well. That's what it's all about this time of year. This could be my last game or it could be a prelude to the World Series. Same applies for my boys tonight just on a larger scale. With Automatic Andy Pettitte failing to deliver another World Series Berth last night, Fat Roger finds himself in a position he hasn't been in since 1986...WIN or GO HOME. If I remember correctly the Sox went home behind Fat Roger that year. The Yanks will go home tonight, I hope!!!! All we need for Pedro to do tonight is keep us ahead or close for 5 innings. After that it's Timmy Ballgame's show. LONG LIVE THE BLESSING OF TED WILLIAMS. My Red Sox shrine is giving off the most positive AURA that it has in my memory ever. I walk by it every morning and it is blaring with life. You'll think I'm nuts but this is a true story. When my wife and I moved into our house last April, at the start of this year's season there was a stem of a plant sitting in an almost empty glass of water on top of the refrigerator that was here. This thing was barely hanging onto life. I took this stem and planted it in some potting soil in a small planter and placed it in the middle of my Red Sox Shrine. No Bullshoot, this plant has since formed so many buds and so many new stems and leafs that we had to replant it in a planter that is more than quadrupled the size of the glass of water we found it in. This plant has become an example of what this Red Sox team is all about. The plant started it's season exactly when the Sox started, there were a lot of questions about both of them...would they make it??? how will they make it??? how far can they go??? if we all believe they can both go forever with a little TLC, patience, calmness, and positive attitudes. Everytime the sun goes down and the leaves look as if they are about to fall off their stems and rot away until who knows when, the SUN comes back up and those same leaves turn towards it and embrace it's energy and look as lively and as strong as ever. WE AS RED SOX FANS ARE THE SUN AND WE MUST ALL COME TOGETHER AND BE THERE FOR OUR TEAM TONIGHT. Whatever happens, we know that the world will not end and we will come back to see our team play another day. Good Luck RED SOX NATION!!! WE deserve a Victory tonight followed by 4 more. Because we are the most loyal and dedicated fans in any sport on earth.

RED SOX Risking $114 to earn $100 OR BUST.

I hope for all Red Sox fans, that the Sox win tonight. However, I am afraid that the curse of the Bambino may be too much to overcome.

The thing I hope most for is that Roger plunks Manny in the ass so we can see Pedro v The Zim II!!!!

GL, Mick!

I know this

I know this

Ted Williams is upstairs with Babe Ruth right now telling that fat bastard to mind his own business tonight. It's out of the Babe's hands and in the hands of the players tonight. This is Ted Williams Time. He will bless this team tonight. And betting with my heart has put me +350 and change so far this post season. All things are equal tonight. The Sox have beaten the Yanks two-in-a-row many times at the Stadium throughout the years. Tonight will be nothing new. Fat Roger can't handle the pressure.

first of all, the last time Boston won a #7 game ROGER CLEMENS was the winner, October 1986 against the California Angels, (don't think they started calling themselves Anaheim until later).

Clemens is without question the greatest pitcher in the history of franchise, with 6 Cy Young awards, 300 + victories and 4100 + strikeouts. Since the playoff game he lost to Pedro 1999 he is 5-0, with a 0.92 in 5 Post season starts.

That said I hope tonight is the last game my boyhood idol pitches tonight. I hope the Sox get to him big and early.

But one thing he isn't is "fat Clemens", the guy is a tremendous athlete for 41 years of age and he will compete against anyone.

seeing as you want to argue with another Sox fan here and bust in with all kinds of stats to break up my mojo for tonight all I can say is I hope Fat Roger falls flat on his fat face tonight. And your stats raise a good point. It's been 17+ Years since Clemens has been called upon to pitch in a game with this magnitude. You know as well as I do that the Yanks expected to win last night5 with Automatic Andy pitching at home against Burkett. And Automatic lost. All the critics want to blast out bullpen when our postseason ERA is 1.17. The Yanks pen lets the Sox pull ahead for good last night. The Yankees expected to be dousing each other with beer and champagne last night not explaining why the Sox beat them at home with Pettitte pitching against Burkett. Now tonight they will be focused more on how much they hate Pedro and getting offended and heated when he buzzes them inside while Pedro will be focused on getting outs. What are you a closet Yankee Fan??? Clemens is the enemy now. All those stats are great when he was with us. He chose to leave. I loved him as a kid too I lived minutes from Bee Hive field and saw him pitch in AA Ball. That was then and this is now. Fat Roger is a Yankee and they are our arch-rival. Then they guy has the nerve to refuse going in the hall as a Red Sox. Saying he'll be a no-show for the ceremony if the make him go in with a B on his cap. You got a lot of nerve. Go slam me in your own(pro-yankee) post. I never disrespect any of you like this. Show me up some where else. I don't bust into anyone's thread like this. If you have something negative to say about me say it in your own. Trying to show me up with stats that support Fat Roger the Yankee. And you call yourself a Sox fan??? Wow. I guess I'll become an observer rather than a poster if you represent what Mad Jacks is all about. Threads are where people post their opinion and you take it personal when it's not even your soapbox to stand on. Like I said before, I never have any ill-will for any of you, I'd never bust into your threads and try to show you up, and if I did I would admit that I was out of line. That's all I have to say so if you must get the last word in in my thread feel free to disrespect me some more because I won't let it escalate any further. I'm a bigger man then that. Letting off this steam is only because you are showing me up in my thread and I have the right to fire back. Good Luck Clemens(Yankee) Fan.

Hmm, yeah that definitely sounds like something from a Yankee fan. He said absolutely nothing that was in the least bit disrespectful. He simply suggested that it is possible that even though you're a Boston fan and want Clemens to get shelled tonight you could still at the same time show some respect towards one of the greatest pitchers to ever climb the hill and not resort to name-calling. But maybe that concept's too advanced for you.

Gosh, with Shamrock pointing out facts and stats you'd think this was a HANDICAPPING forum or something. Rather than relying on really useful scientific stuff like the "aura" of your frickin' plant or the blessing of Ted Williams, or saying you deserve a victory because of how loyal the fans are maybe you could use those crazy things called "stats" to maybe decide that Boston deserves to win because they will play a better game than the Yanks? No, no that can't be it. If the Red Sox win tonight it will obviously have to be because Ted's frozen head blessed them or your plant was pointing towards the north and not have anything to do with the 9 guys on the field, right?

Oh, I'm sorry I guess now I'm messing up your "mojo". This is a HANDICAPPING forum, and is for people to exchange ideas about how a game is going to be played out so we can all make cash. That means that sometimes you're going to get dissenting opinions in your threads (even though I still say that Shamrock's was not dissenting). If you can't handle that then fine, stop posting; you won't be missed. Otherwise if you want to just post mindless homer-ism crap do it in the general forum.

thanks Johnny-

thought I'd just let it go, not even a ignorant statement from someone who has been around for 2 weeks is going to ruin this day for me:)

Clemens 7-7 5.22era at Yankee Stadium, very pedestrian stats.
Clemens 10-2 2.33era away from Yankee Stadium. Clearly Clemens pitches much better on the road.

Pedro AWAY FROM FENWAY 6-2 (1.57)

PEDRO AT FENWAY 8-2 3.13, CLEARLY PEDRO SHARPER ON ROAD.

PEDRO IN 2 STARTS AT Y STADIUM THIS SEASON 1-0 1.38

GOOD LUCK

The curse isn't making it to the World Series, its the Red Sox winning it. Everything is coming together and the House that Ruth built will be a stepping stone for the 2003 Red Sox to break the Curse of the Bambino.

that is a empty deceiving statistic, Yankees haven't even played a game #7 at Yankee Stadium since 1957
