Waltrip won't have the same car that won the Daytona 500, though. He had to leave that No. 15 Chevrolet in the Daytona USA museum, so his team built him a new one.
"That was bad news for them because it was a lot of extra work," Waltrip said. "For me, it's good news. These guys built the car I won Daytona with. They've had a little time to look at it and figure on it. I know the one they build after that is going to be better."

Drafting is another critical part to getting to the front at Talladega. You have to have friends. You have to have guys who are willing to draft with you. You have to know who you can draft with that won?t hold you up, or vice-versa; who?s car is as fast as yours, and vice-versa.

Just wondering how the fords will do with NASCAR making an adjustment for them??? I really think they will have a good showing. Will be at the race, pulling the 99 to the line. Also wanted to say that I really enjoy you site.

To tell ya the truth, I don't put a whole lot of emphasis on car manufacturers. Just about the time you think one has an edge over the other, the next race disproves everything you were thinking. Just look at how dominant the Chevys were in the beginning of the season. People were writing the Fords, Pontiacs, and Dodges off. Jarrett drives a FORD and ya could probably make a damn good arguement that he's been the cream of the crop so far this year.

I will tell ya that the Dodges do have a horse power advantage over the other makes. Dodge cars get about 30 extra horses out of their engines. You'd think they would have the advantage this week in a track such as Talladega but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't put a car in the top #10....

Daytona and Talladega are very similiar tracks with both being restrictor plate races. Probably be wise to look over the official results of the Daytona 500...

Neems we have to pay close attention to pratice times here also. I watch them closer then Qual times. I mean a good Qual time here is good. But when they put the race set up on the cars for pratice. Thats the true way they will handle in the race.
One other thing I watch. On these big tracks. Is the boys with balls of steel. Some guys never like to go fast, fast. Others love it. Jr, Gordon, Park, Jarrett, Marlin, Stewart, Waltrip now that he's with a good team. B Lab, however I wonder about the luck he is haveing. It could be more then just bad luck. Something we don't know.
Skinner, but here again he seem off alittle.
