TAMPA BAY +.5 (-110) vs. EDMONTON
Two roughly equal teams match up here, so I'm taking the home team getting a half goal. Tampa is 12-14-3 SU at home this year -- including two straight wins versus Florida and San Jose. Edmonton is in the midst of a six-game road trip (playing well at the moment)....but also keep in mind -- Oliers had a franchise-record 11-game (0-8-3) road winless streak from December 18-February 8. They could be playing over their heads right now. Tampa was competitive against Detroit in the first game back from the break, a 4-3 overtime loss last Tuesday. Since then, the Lightning have defeated San Jose and Florida at home to post consecutive wins. In a game that could break either way, the home team and the half goal looks like a solid value.

Good luck. I believe that Vincent Lecavalier is going to be back for TB tonight. May bode well for them. EDM is a very good team that has stuggled of late, but played very well in an impressive shutout win in Buffalo the other night.

You are probably on the correct side -

This is a huge game for the Oilers as they are presently in 9th spot in the Western Division tied with the Canucks .

The Lighting are in 13th spot in the Eastern Division 12 points out with a slim chance of moving up.
The Lighting have won 2 in a row however this is a team that seldom has put together long winning streaks as their 22-33-6 record attests to. The Oilers have dominated the lighting in their last 10 games going 9-1!!!
The oilers have much more offensive talent with Smyth, Carter and Comrie. They have combined for over 57 goals and 71 assists.
Yes they will need it facing Khabibulin but I believe they will get to him. I expect a 3-1 game for the Oilers . The Lighting have some key injuries to their forwards and have struggled offensively averaging just 2.02 goals a game this year.
The Oilers need this one a lot more than the lighting and we will see a highly motivated squad tonight. The Oilers have not lost in their last 5 visits to Tampa

best of fortune

Thanks for the feedback. Appears to be compelling evidence to play Oilers based on Fred's remarks, but can we really expect Oilers to go on a run here (on the road)? Got to be a letdown situation here for them after the Sabres win, versus a team they have dominated and could take lightly. I'm counting on Tampa to continue a good effort at home after decent games versus DET, FLA, SJ). Praying for a TIE with that half goal bonus.
