TAMPA BAY ? The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled goaltender Karri Ramo
Ramo, 21, has appeared in six games with Norfolk this season, recording a 2-4 record with a 3.33 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. He was sidelined for several weeks with an ankle injury and returned to action on December 1. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound native of Asikkala, Finland, appeared in two games with the Lightning last season, posting a 3.43 goals-against average.
Ramo played in 45 games with the AHL?s Springfield Falcons last season and posted a 3.13 goal-against average, .906 save percentage and one shutout in his first North American season. He was the only representative from the Falcons chosen to the 2007 AHL All-Star Game and made nine saves in one period of work. Ramo was also named the winner of the Rbk Hockey Top Goaltender award in the skills competition, stopping 15 of 19 shots on the night.
