Got this email from a friend in Nashville....Remember when you called me and I was about to shovel the snow, well I guess its your turn bud. By the way, if you need a few pointers on how to drive in such weather conditions, you know where to get a hold of me!:);)

First off- http://mywebpages.comcast.net/sr20pwr/snow 2003/DSC00009.JPG

Now I know you are from up north and deal with stuff like this all the time. But for Nashville this is major!!!! That pic was taken this morning at about 11 by a buddy and it has snowed steadily since then.

The schools have not continued running their busses because of the conditions, so now it is up to the parents to pick up their kids

I went to work this morning, no problem, I just took it slow. The way home was another story. I got off the interstate and a ramp that's kinda slanted, but no too bad. I knew if I didn't have to stop I'd be ok. Well a truck jackknifed ahead of me so I had to stop. After that I couldn't get going again So I backed up, parked the car and got a ride. This older couple was soooo nice to give me a ride to my house, they wouldn't accept any gas money, offerings of coffee, hot tea etc. What great people!!! So I guess I have to wait for the ramp to get salted before I can pick up the camaro. Tomorow will be spent hosing the salt off the underside Damn I wish I had a four wheel drive!!!!

;) :D

...dude, whole mid-state is shut down!!! ...most folks down here freak out and don't have any idea of how to drive in the snow. chit, i just came on home to avoid all of the crazy drivers.... no reason to get my truck smashed because gramma couldn't figure out that white stuff is slick and the rear wheel drive cutlas doesn't fair too well on icey roads. hell, they had to shut down the interstate just west of nashville this afternoon.... both sides of i-40 halted for hours!!!

...was going to e-mail you and let you know this is the most snow (4-6 inches) we've had here in a few years, my northern friend. good thing i don't live up there, i wouldn't know how to act. LMAO. :moon:

...i love it.... classes cancelled tonight and i get to watch a little hoops. ;)

p.s. funny you being there without a 4wd and me being here and having one. :D

TTM, are those *flurries* on the ground in that picture? LOL geez, the amazing difference from north to south......

the north has no room to talk this year tho, as we have ZERO snow cover here right now :( (hopefully this weekend)

but for the record.....in a NORMAL year, Minneapolis doesn't even call THAT much a winter storm, it's basically what we end up with on *a chance for flurries*

TTM....the problem with our 4 inches of snow is our city is not prepared for it.We might have 10 salt trucks to salt the whole city. Its just not in the city budget. Also its always a combination of sleet and snow..which is slick as hell. Not to mention the panic Nashville drivers have when it snows. Its like people dont use common sense....Im suppose to go th Tunica tommorow with a bunch of golfers.Hope we make it.....hell...Tunica might shutdown if they got 4 inches of snow!!!!!!!

worst snow here in about 10-15 years, according to local news.. lived here 22 years (originally from Ohio) and never seen anything quite like it... everyone runs to local grocery store and buys all the bread, milk, and eggs. i guess they think they will be snowed in or something. i head to get some brew and kick back..........;)
