9-6 ytd
Last week cashed a huge one on GT ML but had bad luck on the later games.
Have a couple I reallly like this week, starting on wednesday.
UNC ML
I really like UNC even though they were nearly upset by McNeese St. I think Butch really worked them hard with the week off and will have them more than ready to go up to Rutgers. UNC is EXTREMELY young and I think this prime time game will have them riled up and ready to pull of an upset and show everyone why many picked them to challenge for the ACC this year.
McNeese St played the Heels very tough but I think the delay could have had some effect on the Heels.
Officials suspended the game due to lightning with North Carolina leading 14-0 on Foster's short TD catch with 12:03 left in the first half. Both teams headed to the locker room before heavy rain arrived in a delay that lasted 1 hour, 48 minutes. A large chunk of the home crowd didn't return, and halftime was reduced to 5 minutes.
Rutgers really struggled against the balanced attack Fresno St. threw at them and I think UNC has the same good balance.
Lets run down the playmakers on UNCs offense....
Rutgers better know where Brandon Tate is everytime hes on the field. He is a big play threat and will touch the ball at KR, PR, WR, and will even get a hand off or two on a reverse. Last year he had a 19.2 YPC average on just 25 receptions. This year hes off to much of the same with a 23.4 YPC average through one game. He also averages about 25 yards on KR and 10 yards on PR and has the ability to break it for a score every time he has it.
Hakeem Nicks is a great compliment to Tate as he is also a spectacular WR. He returns as the leading receiver last year hauling in 74 passes for 958 yards and 5 scores. Nicks is also a big play threat and had a very impressive 12.9 yards per catch last year.
TJ Yates will be the one throwing to these two studs. Yates now has a full season under his belt and I think he will improve a great deal this year. It also helps when you have the tremendous talent to work with that Yates does. He was a little careless with the ball last year and usually will throw a pick, but I think Butch has really worked with him and got him on the right track. Rutgers will bring a lot of pressure to try and disrupt Yates, probably around 45% of the game will Rutgers bring some type of blitz, and Yates is going to need to take care of the ball and make good decisions. The line is also going to have to do their part and pick up the blocks.
UNC will really need to establish a run game and that should be doable as Rutgers was very poor defending the run vrs Fresno. If UNC can establish a run, it will help out the pass game so much more.
UNC may be very young but they have tremendous talent. Butch did an awesome job bringing in some very good recruits. He also has them ready to hit the road as well, he has made it clear to his team that this game is a business trip, not going to see the statue of liberty or any other reason, the only reason is to win the game.
Rutgers is no easy task to stop on offense, they have their own tremendous set of WRs and a very experienced and under rated QB in Teel.
I think the Heels D will step up though because Butch had to really lay into them after their performance against McNeese St.
Fresno certainly dosent have the best D in the world and Rutgers struggled to run vrs them. Replacing Ray Rice is going to take time and I think this will be a down year for Rutgers. Both teams really need this win and are very well coached. I think Butch out does Greg in this one and gets the win with his young group. Rutgers certainly has the experience but I think the Heels have the TALENT.
GL Guys, still waiting on a price for the Heels ML, dont see one on my book
