The Carolina offense against the Tampa Bay defense looks to be a mismatch at this point.

If the Falcons can shut out the Panthers, how many points will Carolina score against Tampa Bay?? Who will be their QB on Sunday?

Car offense averages 14 ppg vs TB defense averages 11 ppg. Throw in the injuries at the Car qb position and its tough to see them scoring more than 10-13pts.

Tampa will score more than 14pts and win this game regardless who is their quarterback.

Tampa Bay looks to be a play based on the strenght of the defense vs offensive weakness for Carolina. TB has the look of a team that will go far into the playoffs, while Carolina appears to be slowing down after a strong start.

Will also be playing TB in a teaser, perhaps with the under...

If you look at a team's ability to score on a long drive (over 60 yards), you can see their offensive strenght.

Carolina has not had a long scoring drive for a TD since the 1st quarter, Sept 29th at Green Bay. That's 15 quarters without a good drive. They simply don't have the players to sustain a long scoring drive.

Rodney Peete is definately OUT for this game which only hurts the offense more. Chris Weinke is questionable sunday due to a concusion, meaning the job may fall to 3rd string qb Randy Fasani..

Meanwhile, in the past 6 games, the TB defense has been dominating -

Against Balt - shut out

Against StLouis - 2 long drives for TD's

Against Cinn - no points allowed, only score was an interception return

Against Atl - allowed 2 FG's, no long driver. 1 FG was from a fumble recovery, one was from a punt return.

Against Clev - allowed a 50yd field goal but no long drives.

Against PHilly - allowed two 40 yard drives for TD's but no long sustained drives.

I'd say there is a very good chance the Panthers don't score a touchdown on Sunday. They only way they get into the end zone is on a turnover of special teams score.
