Teacher arrested for allegedly letting student make drug paraphernalia
ABINGDON, Ill. An Abingdon High School teacher has quit her job following allegations she allowed students to make drug paraphernalia in a shop class.
Abingdon Police Chief Bill Robinson says 45-year-old Rebecca Boswell has been arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile -- a felony.
Robinson says police swept the school last Tuesday and arrested a juvenile for drug possession. He says students told police after the sweep that Boswell let them make drug paraphernalia during a metals shop class.
Boswell is scheduled to make her first court appearance today.
District 217's superintendent says the district doesn't condone behavior that allows a student to feel that drug abuse is O-K.
