Live in Des Moines area. Spent many saturdays either in the stadium or on abandoned Finkbine followed by an evening at the Fieldhouse. Drank, danced and waited for some young wench to take advantage of me.

Ah, yes, downtown Iowa city after a Hawkeye victory-- if you couldn't get laid you were either gay or too drunk to notice she wanted to take you home....:toast:

Hey guys,
the best time of the year is nearly upon us.
BOWL Season:0074

Every year we get a few games where it is obvious that some teams felt like they should be playing in a better bowl game, or other reasons, like the coach is leaving for another gig, ETC . most of the time these teams could care less about its respective Bowl game appearance . These teams show up flat.

What I'm trying to do is figure out what teams fall into this category .

Iowa maybe.?
Ohio St ?

What do you guys think.:popcorn2

Damn bro Iowa is in the ROSE Bowl thats pretty big Bowl so Im going to say they and the school are happy as hell especially with the big Payoff...LOL

Virginia Tech probably arent too happy being in the independence bowl

Georgia and Penn St isnt real happy to be in the taxslayer Bowl but hell they are lucky to be in any Bowl game.

Arkansas isnt doing cartwheels being in the liberty bowl

Central Mig and Minn are both lucky to be in any Bowl Game

SJST and Georgia ST dont deserve to even be in a Bowl Game

Just my opinion and you know what opinions are like...LOL

To?

I graduated from Iowa in 1987 and was at the '86 rose bowl game when Ronnie Harmon was on the take and UCLA rolled the Hawkeyes.
Will know Monday if I have enough priority points to get tickets to this years game.
When did you graduate?
Extra credit question: which dorm is being torn down this coming spring so the hospital can once again expand?

redsfann...talked to an Iowa offensive lineman that played in the '86 Rose Bowl. He said he knew Ronnie Harman was on the take in the game. That game was brutal to watch.

I've heard from several sources that Harmon was on the take in that game. His agents got in legal trouble and one died-- Norby Walters?-- before they could lock him up.
All I know is Harmon fumbled once all season yet managed to fumble four times in the first half alone and drop a perfectly thrown pass in the end zone about 40 feet from where I was sitting....
when the second semester started a few weeks after that game Harmon was seen all over campus riding a new scooter, wearing an expensive leather jacket and very nice clothes of which he had none of before the game.
People say his agents bought all that stuff for him and that's part of the reason they were charged.
I'll always believe he was totally on the take that game. Iowa played UCLA about even in the second half, but the 14 point lead was too much for them to overcome.
Let's hope 30 years later for a better outcome.....:toast:

Watch the You Tube video if you want further proof. BTW, great videos of all past bowl games on You Tube and it's great to watch the games from your youth.
