I'm going to leave out some obvious ones like Tennessee St and Penn State, who were terrible from the opening bell. I'm talking about the teams that had promise earlier in the year and they've seen things go bad recently. Obviously, some padded their non conference schedules with garbage cans and now they find conference play a different ballgame. But these are teams that probably thought they were better than they are. I only went thru today's teams and a small number of others so feel free to add any if you wish:

North Carolina was 7-2, lost last 4
LaSalle was 6-4, has lost 5 of last 6
Marshall was 8-3, has lost 6 of last 7
Toledo was 6-3, has lost 5 of last 7
Wright St was 4-0, just 2-8 L10 games
LSU was 12-2 and beat Arizona; 0-5 in last 5
South Carolina was 4-0 but 0-6 L6
Denver was 12-6; has lost last 4
UCLA was 4-5 but always has high expectations; has lost last 8
Northwestern was 8-3 but have lost 7 in a row
East Carolina was 7-0 but is just 1-7 L8
Southern Miss was 9-4 but is just 1-5 L6
Villanova was 12-5 but have lost 3 in a row
Charlotte was 5-3 but is 3-8 L11

John,

Keen observation.

I will start watching for some short tempers and in-fighting on those teams you listed.

Thanks for posting.

I don't know that North Carolina has given up. They lost their big man, Sean May, to injury and aren't deep enough to compete for 40 minutes with better teams.
I think they're still trying though.

Maybe I should've re-phrased to go-againsts rather than quitters. Southern Miss ended up winning an OT game last night so you can say they haven't quit, but I'm not real enamored with them, either. North Carolina maybe is trying, but I doubt I will be backing them soon.

Toledo is always inconsistent...however they are steller towards the end of the season....since 1999 they are 20-5 in February and Stan tries to prepare them for the upcoming MAC Tourny...

Valuist,
Think your right on the $ about most of these but disagree with the Villanova assessment. Young team and that coach Wright is very good, he'll get them straightened out, looking at Villanova to post a big win in next home game! Keep up the good work! ;)

You could be right. I saw them earlier in the year when they were in Alaska and didn't see them again until the St. Joes debacle. But the poor play in that rivalry game should definitely put them on alert.

I believe what you can use this info for. By the way this is a great time of the year to take a look at this. Is play against many of these if favored. Watch for good spots to do this. And of cousr becaerfull there not playing each other.
Take LSU I kept hereing how good at home they are. Well 12 & 20 ATS there last 32 at home just does not show that. Now you have a pattern of there giving a poor effort in many games. So use this info it can work for all of us.
