:0074 The jury is out on MR Tebow, who's an extremely nice young man and he has talent, however, he's not Bobby Douglas (Bears QB of days gone by) nor is he Scott Mitchell (former Lions & Dolphins QB for a short time). This is a guy who is big and strong and stiff as a passer, however, being able to run a 4.7, 40 and his hands aren't too bad from catching snaps in the shot gun, spread O etc., why not give this kid a try? NOT AT QB mind you, how about TE or even an "H" Back? Does anyone remember Wysocki who played at Maryland? He wasn't a QB, he had played the position before, but he was very valuable receiving the ball or running the ball out of the spread while at Maryland and in the NFL with the Skins of yesteryear!

Tebow as I said is big and strong and he maybe could make it in the CFL, if anyone wants to take a chance on him being able to pass and make up his mind when to throw, but in the NFL, use this kid as a short yardage back, blocking FB or extra TE in short yardage situations? It can't hurt! He's already got football in his blood and perhaps he'd swallow his pride and learn a new position in the NFL in order to get some PT!!

Just a thought!

Any thoughts you have?

Thanks ya'll!

I love your reference to Bobby Douglas but, it's an insult to put Tebow in his class as a QB. Douglas was very capable but, on a horrible team. He did run more than most QB's...mainly for his life...fun to watch.

I agree Tebow could play another position but, I don't know if he wants to. I do think the jury verdict is in...three teams that have seen him practice everyday determined he could not be their QB. Only one other team was interested in him as a QB (Jacksonville) and that was more of a side show/put people in the seats factor rather than football skills.

I don't think he can pass in Canada either so I don't think QB is an option for him in any league.

Bobby Douglas was a stiff and that comparison is pretty accurate. Horrible Bears teams and he fit right in.

The CFL could really help this kid improve his skills...Flutie,Moon to name a couple have become successful in the NFL after their CFL stint...I know they had more passing skills but we do know the CFL gave them time to mature..imo

You know what I would do if I was a football coach? I would get a couple of these mobile quarterbacks together on one team. You line them both up in the backfield together every snap. About half the time you have them running the option. The defense wouldn't know whether to shit or go blind. Imagine, the QB pitches to the halfback, who is actually a QB. The defense comes up to stop the run and the QB throws over them downfield. The defense defends the pass and one of the QB's runs for a nice gain. I think this system has a lot of merit, and there are mobile QB's all over the place that you can find to run it. Maybe too exotic for the NFL's conservative ass, but why hasn't a college coach tried this yet?

I asked him"Dont tell me ur one of those guys who think they should have kept Tebow",and he looked guity as charged. unbelieveable. He will never b an.nfl starting quarterback.

this forum needed another tebow thread.

if we're all lucky, espn and nfl network will both devote significant time to him tomorrow...
