Telemarketing handicapper

Just got a call from some handicapper trying to sell me his concensus play for tonight and after I said I was not interested he reminded that gambling was illegal in this state and said he could cause trouble. I would not worry, but he had way too much of my personal information, WAY TOO MUCH! Certainly he got the info from some sportsbook that I had signed up with, anyone else have this happen to them? He can't really cause trouble, could he?
Any experience or thoughts would be appreciated.

I also had the same thing happen some years ago. The guy said the same bullshit and we got into a shouting match over the phone. I hung up on him. He calls back and says if you don't want to listen to me than I will call back in the middle of the night and bug you constantly. I said you call one more time and I will gets the cops over hear for phone harasment. He THEN states well it is illegal to wager in your state are you going to tell them that. I THEN sais I have the name of the place you are calling from and will be in contact with one of your bosses and see what he says about all this bullshit...He hung and I never heard of him or them again. They are just trying to pull what they are scamdicappers and they can't cause you any trouble. IF I do get phone calls I say I am broke and bankrupt and am going to Gamblers Anonymous. They stop calling right now.

I used to get calls from a guy who worked for a capper name Hurley(can't remember his first name) & told him I gave up gambling. He stopped calling but now sends mail instead.

pretend you are a homosexual (notice i used the politically correct word there instead of just calling em c*cksucking queers) and being to have phone sex with them. It usually ends the call on the spot.
At least, it helped stop the call from MCI/Worldcom coming to my house.

I NEVER GIVE OUT MY CELL NUMBER TO ANYONE I DON'T KNOW....

I also have occasional calls on my cell ... one last year was from a capper named Michael Healy than another was Michael Spagnoli. Funny, 6 months later Spagnoli called again and was using another name. I know this because he has a very distinctive voice. Anyway, just wanted to know you guys are not alone!!!

We have a "Do Not Call List" in this state so you are not bothered by telemarketers and I told him it was illegal for him to call me and he said he wasn't a telemarketer and that I was on his preferred customer list so it was ok, BULLSHIT! He then continued into the gambling in my state was illegal and so on...

The do not call list here has ELIMINATED telemarketers from calling, every state should have such a policy!

same person called me Penguinfan, I hung up, got a call back instantly hung up again, not interested. Third time it stopped, must win a lot of money gambling, he is so good he has to cold call for clients.

do not know how he got my number, or information, hope no books give out this information.

Selkirk, this guy had too much personal information not to have gotten it from an on-line sportsbook, somebody is selling us out and it sure isn't appreciated. When I find out who it is I will post on every sports and non sports message board I can find, see how they like it!

Have you ever called a free scorephone or gotten the vegas rotation free sports schedules???? Heard from some people this is how they got some personal info. Makes sense?!?!? :shrug:

I used to get them during football season I would always give them my card and tell them to call me for next week with their credit card number then hang up.

I am currently NOT getting them so if it is a sportsbook must not be any of the six I have, five of which are listed above.

the 2 biggest even if you call from cell phone which is the easiest thing in the world to get number for. is 800 numbers or local score phones and get that free pick on tape , nothing is free about them those are your 2 biggest , then your number goes into a burn list after a few battering calls company will sell you name and number i am sure the call you by your first name like they know you or something.

i have heard of 2 off shore books seeling number but i think they got caught and lost tons of business.

would clean my pc everyday and watch what sport sites you go to ,you get bugged and you can be tracked to every sports related place you go and all the info you fill out they can grab that is why adaware is great

send in for free copy of phil steels or mark larences books you just game them all the info they need and those 2 sell them all over the place . never call for a freepick on tape or check a scre out from a score phone,if you do you will be sold to all kinds of slime. and they get like 2- 4 bucks a burn and sell them to over 50 people in a year and brokers also buy them and sell them to any one that ask phone or emails. i do not believe in doing business that way, i would not buy anything if someone called me. your info is sold for lots of cash.
