That wasn't so hard, was it, troll?

Did you ever live in either city? You said you know a lot about Nashville and some about Louisville, but Louisville sucks, ok how was that helpful, all I was doing was defending the city I grew up in, the dikwad comment was a little much and I apologize for that, but I don't think your post was helpful at all...

This is from 5 years back, it is what came up when I did a search for crime statistics by city, it shows Nashville being much worse in the crime department;

Burglary: 7,369
Larceny or Theft: 26,630
Car Theft: 4,649
Arson: 127

Louisville Metro Crime Report

State: Kentucky (KY)
City Population: 623,771
Murder: 42
Forcible Rape: 83
Robbery: 1,455
Aggravated Assault: 1,673

I said my experiences in both cities are 15 years old. I never exactly pretended to offer particularly 'helpful' specific info.

However, I spent enough time in both cities to have formed an opinion, if that's ok with you.

I never said that Louisville sucks, but that it sucks compared to Nashville. Compared to Newark, it doesn't suck. It's all relative. Understand?

And if you haven't noticed, my 'not helpful' opinion has been confirmed in one way or another by everybody else in this thread.

And I apologize also, for saying that I much prefer Nashville. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

1st number Nashville, 2nd number Louisville, 3rd United States
Violent Crime 8 7 3
Property Crime 8 7 3

The crime indices range 1-10. A higher number corresponds with more crime. Our crime rates are based on FBI data.

Indicates Nashville is worse for crime here as well. :nono:

I've seen similar numbers and can not explain it. I have always been shocked at the high reported crime rate here. It certainly does not feel like an unsafe city in any parts that I have been in. That may be due to moving here from Atlanta where you can go from feeling "very safe" to "not safe at all" while simply turning around in a circle.

I would choose Louisville but that's only because there are more hunting opportunities closer. You could also have a farm within a reasonable commute. I'm not sure what you like to do or what intersests you have. If I didn't want land or hunting opportunities, I would choose Nashville without thinking.

Hunting/farming is a complete non factor for me.

Nashville seems to be everyone's choice. I think both places look nice & Louisville seems to be on the uptick, while still extremely affordable.

Please keep the info coming, it has been a great resource so far.

Thank you to everyone who chipped in w/ some knowledge. I will be going in for Lasik tomorrow so I might not be able to respond quickly, but believe me your info & thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Speaking of which how are the young ladies of Nashville looking? Never hurts to have eye candy & some pretty young ladies to harmlessly flirt w/ a bit.

And by harmless flirt I mean
