Future is bright..

congrats on your first postseason and first postsesason win...

future is looking great for that young team...

i like the organization..

question is:

yates and schaub...

do you trade one?

yates did enough for me to be a believer that he could be a starter in this league...

but you cant take out schaub? can you?

although, zero playoff appearances and zero wins, compared to yates leading em in down the stretch, and winning a game...

waddya do?

yep they showed a lot of grit today with a 3rd team QB they will be heard from next year also.

So. Cal
did you see schaub play?
did you see yates play?

if so, are you really wondering who their starting qb is?

yates will make a fine 2nd string qb next year but that's it....lienart likely moves on.

He IMHO!

Yates or Schaub, is a no brainer, Yates may develop in 2-3 more years, he played because there where nothing else in the table, he is the 3rd stringer to learn and develop, I would say that the difference between winning or losing this game in the future is Schaub, and I truly beleive Yates was in the middle of the Texans and a win (also Jacoby made a big mistake but what the heck, he was the only one producing with A. Johnson out).

i would rather have schaub at this moment as well...but i dont think its as obvious as most....schaub has had many oppurtunities and chances, and never even made the postseason as a starter. he is great fantasy QB, but not sure if he is the guy i want for the next 10 years.....not say yates is either, but if i had to make an investment annd plan for the next 10 years, yates is younger, cheaper, and at this point more succesful in the postseason.

like i said, if i had to choose, i would say schaub at this very moment,
but think yates could be solid starter in couple years...

guess keepin em both wouldnt hurt...

regardless congrats houston on the year...glad to see you make it....

schaub never had a defense and had a running game for the last year only

7-3 #1 seed with schaub
3-3 with yates drop to #3 seed

pretty much a no-brainer if you ask me....yates is closer to being cut that being their starting qb next year.....he's a developmental qb, but schaub is their qb next year.

Good thread addict! Houston has a bright future for sure...

Pretty simple to me....KEEP BOTH!! You will see this trend more in the NFL....you NEED 2 GOOD QB's!! Would be foolish for Houston to get rid of either one of them if you ask me! Yates came out of nowhere really and Leinhert is gone!

If I was GM or owner...I would want two good guys...because this league is getting harder and harder to stay healthy. Yates was a given shot, earned his strips and played great! Obviously helps a TON to have a great running game and defense.

On a TOTALLY separate issue....it just baffles me that in college football...the elite programs (top 10-15) don't recruit really good FG kickers. How many games have we seen over the years where games come down to a kick....and many times the kicker is so bad, they are forced o go for it or alter offense strategy. Such a game changing weapon to have a guy in college bang 40+ yard fg's in his sleep. The top programs dont recruit them and makes no sense to me...

rumor has it Peyton Manning wants to come here...:00hour Schaub is in the last year of his contract, Yates is not a starter in the NFL, no fucking way...I do like the future but have some holes to fill, need a receiver on the other side of Andre Johnson who is no spring chicken, re-sign Arian Foster and trade Schaub, possibly to Redskins, since he went to school at Virginia, maybe a possibility:shrug: KEEP WADE PHILLIPS

Schaub isn't going anywhere. He is the number 1 without any doubt.
Texans off season questions are simple:

What to do with Mario Williams? Looks like they let him go.
Resign Foster? No brainer.
Find a quality starter at cb and put Kareem Jackson on the bench.
Find another top level wr as Johnson is aging and injury prone. Team struggled using Walter as #1 wr in his absence.

I don't think they will do it because it will cost them a ton but moving up to get Justin blackmon would be huge.

The window for a big move for this team is right now.
Strong young team who could of had home field throughout playoffs without injury, weak division, great defense, great rb.
