College Football 2012 .. 7-3 ... + $ 161.00

Well over half way thru the college season and I am now playing with my money.

Texas A&M with Johnny Football will just be too much offense for Miss St to hang with for the entire game.

Mission No. 1: Stop Johnny Football

Stopping one football player sounds simple enough, right? Well, not always. Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is something special, a player Mississippi State coaches could only draw comparisons to former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton. He?s not as big as Newton, but he?s just as dangerous and has already snapped a 43-year-old SEC record for total offense twice this season. MSU expects to mix up its coverages in an effort to confuse Manziel, who averages 376 yards per game. Florida and LSU found a perfect mix of blitzes while containing the slippery freshman with its linebackers.

Will Bulldogs regain their confidence?

Mississippi State walked into Tuscaloosa with a swagger, and left humbled last week. It?s human nature to express disappointment after a letdown, especially after seven weeks of buildup, but the Bulldogs can?t afford to walk into Davis Wade Stadium with an Alabama hangover. A loss to A&M will likely push the Bulldogs into a battle for fourth place in the SEC West by the end of the season while knocking them out of the national rankings. Simply put, everything the Bulldogs worked for in the summer and in their first seven wins could be wiped away in the coming weeks with a couple more losses. MSU must win its home games.

MSU?s offense must overcome hiccups

MSU?s offense had its moments against the top defense in the country last week at Alabama, but stalled in the red zone on two Tyler Russell-led drives. The Bulldogs scored a touchdown, sure, but against the Tide?s backups. Most assume today?s game will be a shootout between two high-powered offenses, but how will MSU respond after being shut down a week ago? Russell was, again, impressive under pressure against the Tide and made several big throws. He?ll need to do it again today. A&M defensive coordinator Mark Snyder said Tuesday the Aggies? secondary will have to stay in coverage downfield for an extra 11/2 seconds to have a chance against MSU?s QB.

Alabama was using 2nd and third string players and still trounced the bulldogs.

The only Bulldogs are in Georgia my friends.

GO JOHNNY FOOTBALL !
