I agree with Alabama Box. I played against them this week bc I heard the 2’s and 3’s were gonna get a lot of time and they did. My mistake was not fully understanding that Bama’s 2’s are a top 15 football team. Thanks as always for sharing

Headlines in the Austin newspapers today " The Circus is Coming" to Austin. Alabama is now -20.5 over Longhorns ESPN,Fox Longhorn network and Gameday will be here on Saturday. I play racquetball with 5 other guys and 4 have season tickets to Texas games All are willing to sell their tickets for Saturdays game. I will watch it on TV and then that night go see my Tex St Bobcats vs FIU Think I paid $125 for season tickets and can sit where ever I want at Bobcat staduim. And that includes an away game ticket to the Baylor game .
Bevo Blvd will be packed outside the staduim Its a 12 noon game but central time kick off will be 11.00 am Stark texas coach has instilled on his team "see no evil ,speak no evil" " No Bulletin Board material,No trash talking,no inflammatory sound bite or tic tok facebook message bds etc .
Texas is coming off a blowout win over UL Monroe and new qb Ewers got his feet wet in 1st college game . He has a cannon of an arm and can throw the ball in the air on those bombs 50 yds but unfortunately the ball is about 5-8 yds pass his wr's But he will learn as the season plays out but Bama is not the team to learn against. Bama has one of the best safeties and corner backs in the country in Ricks and Branch both projected to be No 1 NFL picks They also have 2 Heisman candidates in Anderson at line back,edge rusher DE or where ever you put him and QB Bryce Young. Bama beat Utah St 55-0 the other day . They gave up 136 total yds and made Utah punt over 6 times. Watching Bryce at qb who had just under 200 yds passed for 4 Td's and ran for one . When I heard on the radio yesterday he was a basketball star at point gd in HS it clicked. He can run and pass and see's the court oopps field. Bama OL and Def line are so much better then Texas's Texas Ol has 2 or 3 possible freshmen that were highly recruited and will get manhandled by Bama Def line. Bama OL opens up holes that any of us here reading this could gain 3.1 yds. We might be sore as anything getting up but there was daylight. Texas Defense last year was the reason they went 5-7 No pass rush what so ever, And on Saturday won't touch Bryce . Saban has 3 designed running plays for his qb .
I could go on an one about this game..Texas does have the best running back in the country in Bijan And Bama has the best qb and linebacker in the country. Bijan drives a Lamborghina with his NIL contract and Ewers just had his new car towed away. If fact the other Texas starter who has been suspended was charged with a felony because he was trying to take the " boot off " his car that was illegally parked

old South good to hear from you hope all is well with your family Big news in Austin this morning Austin airport has a power failure so all flights in and out are cancelled . Rumor was Alabama football team was flying in so Texas air controllers wanted them re-routed from Austin. but any delay is not going to help Texas. They still have no defense for Young and company. They can always land in San Antonio and take a bus up to Austin Maybe stop at the Alamo and do some sight seeing. Texas expects 103,000 fans in the staduim ,and another 30,000 outside barbecuing..
Saban vs asst coaches 24-2, We have 3 Heisman candidates in this game two from Bama and Bijon from Texas But he only gained 81 yds vs UL Monroe . Think my prop bet for him winning the Heisman went out the window in the 1st game. But Bryce won it last year and Anderson on defense has a legitimate shot at the trophy . I bought a book at Goodwill the other day " Dads playbook" It gives out famous quotes from coaches, I read Sabans quote " " What happened yesterday is history,What happens tomorrow is a mystery. It was just announced the Alabama band will not be coming to Austin. A problem with the seat allotment of tickets. Why are you guys upsetting the Tide. But wait..I am taking the Tide to roll over the Longhorns -20 So keep upsetting them . Not sure if any football players are dating anybody in the band.
I do know how to cover the +20 points that Texas is getting. Use Bijan in the slot,backfield,flair outs. etc giving him the ball between tackles won't do it. But Saban already's knows this ... But Alabama has been known to play conservative with big leads so that scares me some. Both coaches have respect for each other so there is no Jimbo AM controversy. Saban saved Sark when he was fired at USC for drinking and hired him at Bama . I am worried about a backdoor cover since both coaches like and respect each other. But still think Bama wins and covers the game. Played racquetball this morning and on fridays we all go to a diner and have breakfast . The menu had the "Alabama Slam" special . It was 2 eggs,2 pancakes 2 slices of bacon and sausage,biscuit and coffee for $1.99 I usually get biscuits and gravy but this morning got the Alabama Slam " Told my 6 racquetball boys that's what going to happen tomorrow morning. but all my buddies have been drinking the Longhorn Kool aide and think not only will Texas cover but win outright.
With 4 national tv networks ,ESPN's Gameday,Fox News big kickoff,and NBC's Today show all here in Austin covering this game and ESPN's Steven A Smith saying yesterday " even Matthew McConanghy can't help Texas I agree. I hate being on the same side of Steven A Smith but he is right. McConanghy will be on the Texas sidelines but he can't rush the passer but will be a cheerleader.
Bevo Blvd ,outside the staduim ,parking lots, campus and 105,000 expected crowd will be rocking. Next to staduim they even have Rapper Flo doing a free concert at the LBJ library . Now we all know Rapper Flo's blockbuster hits .
Texas is a prohibitive under dog on saturday. And the reason is they went 5-7 last year and there defense had no pass rush,couldn't tackle and although leading vs some good teams fell apart in the 4th quarter . This year they have a freshmen qb highly rated in Ewers and young Ol one Wr in Worthy and a top rb in Robinson . Think they are improved from last year but are over their heads vs Bama. Think Texas could win the B-12 and although young if they get their defense improved somewhat are a force in B-12. But Bama has to much talent . Anderson probably the best defensive player in the country said yesterday " each game for us is like a national championship game"
So Matthew,Rappor Flo and all my racquetball buddies are in for a long day. Hate to agree with Steven A Smith but Bryce on offense and Anderson on defense will be to much for the Longhorns to handle . Think Bama covers the halftime and game lines and Bryce will drop back and if no one is open he is off to the races.

Wayne I thought something was wrong I got UTSA -2 over Army . Will cap the game later tonight or tomorrow am thanks ..Think UTSA has to much offense for Army D . But UTSA is coming off a triple OT loss to Houston and has to be drained . Now they have to travel to the Point for an away game The good news is the weather in the Hudson Valley is fall weather. Very comfortable in the 70's and 80's . Army just saw McCall of Coastal beat them now they have Harris at qb to go up against. Think Roadrunners can win this one on the road.

Finally game day here in Austin can't go anywhere without people talking about the game. Just got a cafe latte at Starbucks and everyone is talking about how Texas will win over Bama . If I stayed any longer at Starbucks they might have convinced me.

I am worried about a backdoor cover . Bama up 25-30 late and since its the 2nd game of the season Saban starts subbing but Texas wants the score to look respectable and doesn't sub. so played the 1st half but that line has now jumped a few points. So many things to consider about this game. Bryce at qb will be a dual threat for Tex defense.Although Bama's weakest at OL Texas DL is a work in progress. Texas lost out to the Brockmeyer twins last year in recruiting. Their father was a Texas star yet Saban out recruited the twins to Bama .It was a huge blow to Texas because they needed young talented offensive linemen These two kids were 5-star linemen. How could the two best HS off. linemen in the state sign with Bama and leave the state of texas even though your father was a star at the school. Well both twins aren't even starting today for Bama. That kinda tells you something.
Enough on this game. Texas will have a tough time trying to stop Anderson and Ewers who does have a quick release will be hurried all day. Texas does have solid rb's with Roschon and Bijan but these guys will have to block a lot today. Texas if they run don't have a blocking TE so maybe putting a tackle there might help. But to me the key of the game is Bryce Young, He can throw accurately and see's the field. And if shows something he doesn't like he can run. Texas will have a tough time containing him. Think Bama wins big and covers the the almost 3 td's line and gets an early lead and covers the halftime score

Was at the last game these guys played each other and lost. Roadrunners coming off a 3 OT loss to Houston and now on the road but its September and the fall weather in Orange County is in the 70's If this game was being played in December in about 20 degrees temperature with a windchill of 5 degrees I'd take the Black Nites Army defense couldn't stop McCall and Coastal last week and UTSA's Harris and his wr's will score a lot Roadrunners win by a td or two

So many what ifs for Texas today. They were super impressive on D. Hiring Patterson was a GREAT move. I hate moral victories, and it sucks to lose. If Ewers doesn't get hurt, Texas wins the game.

Ewers arm is strong and his quick release didn't allow to much pressure Card did a nice job backing up Ewers after his injury. Bama didn't let Bijon hurt them . Card sucks. Ewers has a sprained clavicle and will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of his injury. If Ewers is out for an extended period of time, Texas is in trouble. They would be better off limiting the number of snaps that Card gets and mix in Roschon Johnson at QB/Wildcat.
