there is a guy that lives in Austin Tx, drives BAD ASS cars, seems like he gets a new one ever 6 months, had the first Manual 6speed vette "Z07" in the 9 second 1/4mile, had a 1000hp supra in the 9's, here is his curent list of cars in his sig:

U would enjoy my hometown and some of the events we have. Corvettes are made here, we have the Corvette Museum, some sort of Corvette homecoming about 3 times a year where the streets are filled with them, several car shows a week at local restaraunts where guys pop the hoods so people can gawk at their stuff, and last but not least, we have Beech Bend which hosts all kinds of events throughout the year. Also, at Beech Bend, u can pay 5 bucks and run your car as many times as u want on some Saturdays and Sunday evenings just like the drag racers do with the starter, lights, etc. They also have a bunch of contests and gambler series that go on.

I've never been that much of a fan of the drag racing end, but I can sit at the circle track all day! Nothing much better than Friday night at the Bend watching all the 'necks getting lit then duking it out on the track and with each other after the races After all the "street features" it ends with the figure 8 race which usually makes a great show. Not sure if u have much of that up in your area, but there are lots of local tracks in the South where u can have lots of fun for not much $$.

I visited BG about 3 years ago during the Corvette festivities and i can honestly say it is a great spectacle, definitely worth the drive. I hope to attend this summer as well...

What do u all call the 16-21 year old bunch that drive Hondas, Toyotas, etc with thousands of dollars of added accessories (that they do not install themselves) like glass packs, ground effects, tail fins, etc? They are also the ones that rev it up at stoplights and "get wheel" with the fronts everytime they stop. We call them "boy racers", and we have a blast making fun of them. They come out of the woodwork on 5 dollar night at Beech Bend, and the guy on the track always gets pissed because they don't know what they're doing. Funny stuff.
