Texas and the speed goes back up. 1.5 mile track and its fast. Have to look for the gun slingers to be back on top. Have to like speed here. Some of these guys don't.
See you all here next Sat and Sun.

ONE VERY important thing I didn't even look at in the Bristol race were the new good year tires!!! As you saw, they played a major part in the race today enabling the teams who didn't pit near the end of the race to be put into good positions. If Harvick doesn't run over a piece of debris, he would have one his 2nd Nascar event. Also, Andretti is gonna have to get some serious attention after outstanding performances in the last two races....

IN the future, don't forget about what these new goodyears will have upon each race especially the short tracks...

Texas Motor Speedway. Only Indy is larger then Texas, as to seating. Texas seats 260,000. The illuminated 1.5 mile tri oval was patterned after Charlotte. It is fast and called the design of the future.
Heres a little item I just found out about today. The inner liners that are in raceing tires. Goodyear introduced them 35 years ago. They call them the mother of raceing invention.
Here another little item. Glenn Fireball Roberts 40 years ago this month. Became the only driver to Lead every lab of a Winston Cup event. It was held at the old Marchbanks Speedway Hanford CA.

So JR wins the pole.Is he ready to show his stuff. Maybe. B Lab next to him are his troubles over. Maybe. Look for Park and Jarrett to stay in the hunt. J Gordon will again be in the fight. Keep waiting for Martin to wake up. Mayfield will run good here. Well will post picks tomorrow.

Don't forget about Rusty's crew chief situation when you're looking at potential Rusty matchups...

I Agree, that and he is starting where Rusty don't like it. He will get a head of some. But I don't think he makes the top 10 or 12.

Dale Earnhardt Jr
Steve Park
Bobby LaBonte
Dale Jarrett
Ricky Rudd
Bobby Hamilton
Jeff Gordon
Ken Schrader

I will have a better idea of this when we see more racing

Big Tease, I must admit you have completely lost me. How in the world did K. Schrader make that list. I see him as unlikely to make top 10. Luck, Ticker

Well unfortunatly, Schrader didnt run as well as I thought he would in Happy Hour. It was just a hunch, dont jump the gun when I post before happy hour, it doesnt mean a whole lot. I dont see who has a better car than Little E, he has the setup and he is determined to turn his season around. He is talking with that confidence this weekend, and he will be my horse for the weekend, my advice is to jump on him before the rest of the world does though, because he is not exactly making it hard to fugure out who has the best car. He is on the pole, ran excellent in practice and excellent in happy hour.

Looking at past results from 1.5 mile tracks, you cant ignore Bobby LaBonte and his dominance. One must question how good his team is right now, I think he is Top 5 material, but I dont think he wins it.

Jerry Nadeau likes the 1.5 milers better than the rest, and he is probably gonna make a good run at it.

Coincidently, his teammate Gordon hasnt performed exceptionally well on the 1.5 milers, I think he will run well if he doesnt get a DNF, probably wont win, but at the odds I am showing now 10-1, he is worth a shot.

Although I think FORD is back to a disadvatage this week, Jeff burton may be good for a matchup or 2 if he gets the right matchup. Burton always runs good at Texas and Atlanta. Also finished 2nd in the busch today from way in the back of the pack.

Also, may want to watch Dave Blaney. He had the best car at Atlanta until his tire fell off, he has said that this is the same car from that race and he likes his **** even though he is way in the back.

Steve Park will be a great car tomorrow, he is going with about the same package as Dale JR, they know he is good, and they will be just as good. Park always races well here and at Atlanta, will be a Top 3 guy in my opinion.

I like Kevin Harvick, but he HAS to be tired after his run today. May be good for awhile but im still unsure about him.

Dont be fooled by Bensons good run at happy Hour, he hates his car right now, and in my opinion, he only ran well for a short period of time at happy hour and that was because he was behind Dale JR and JR helped him out on that lap. Benson joked before wualifying that he wanted to drive Schraders car and not his own.

Im done until tomorrow, or I will have nothing to write about

Adding Park over Stewart.
Just athought. I see Skinner over T Lab. If Skinner had not raced yesterday I would take this to. Skinner a little older then guys like Harvick. The young guys less then 30 can race all weekend and not get tired.
Well maybe at a lower amount just a little on Skinner. T lab has been chit all weekend.
Anyone have thouhgts on this one.
