I sure have not be impressed with Texas the last 2 games......I give them credit for winning but I sure thought they would control and win pretty easy against Purdue which they didnt..........then I thought they would have a little harder time tonight but they were very lucky to win both games. I am especially discouraged with their defensive play..............

Know this isn't your thread and don't mean to dissrupt Pt1gard's thread. Horns may not have been impressive to u tha last 2,but they covered both and I think that's what wagerin is about. I know I read a couple of threads the last couple of nights where we were lucky just to be here. As long as Ford is in tha Building the Horns will be in tha game:Yep: :Yep:

txhorns.........I give them credit for winning and covering. I had them in both games. I just kinda thought that after that dissapointing loss to Texas Tech in the conference tourney.(a game in which they trailed from st to finish).......they would have had that 1 dominating game, but havent seen it yet, unless of course if you consider UNC-Asheville a decent team.

Texas allowed 4 points in the final 5 mins of the game.
Their defense clamped down when they needed to.
They let the 14 pt lead slip away because of bad ball
handling and poor defense....i think 4 to 6 points were given to Uconn on turnovers during that stretch and they seemed to let up on defense when they got that big lead. Also TJ was benched
with 4 fouls during that Uconn run. Clearly without him, the
Texas offense is going to struggle.

Texas shot poorly. 33% at half. But they still led by 6.
they shot 34% for the game but still scored 82 and
won by 4. had they shot better....who knows how much
they win by. Texas hit their FTs and outrebounded Uconn and that ended up being the difference in the game. When not shooting well, good teams find a way to win. That's exactly what Texas did.

of course, if uconn had hit their FTs it might have been a completely different story.

great great game though. we could see these two teams again play next year in the finals. both young and talented...

It hasn't been pretty for quite a while, but Mouton really stepped it up last night. Boddicker didn't shoot too bad either. The main shooting woes now look to be a lot of misses in the paint and TJ mired in a huge slump.

I think we can beat MSU with the same performance we had last night - frankly, neither Michigan State nor Maryland showed me a whole lot. Will we beat OU or Syracuse like that? No. I think the answer may be more penetration by Mouton and Ivey, try to get Sydmill on track, find a way to pull the defenses out a little and give Thomas a little breathing room. We do that, I think we'll be fine.

BTW, where are all of those UConn fans at that said we stink and we're overrated? Oh well, eat your crow. :thefinger
