Texas St won 74-67 Very small crowd but their Tx St "strutters" the accaimed winning dance team performed after a national trip somewhere in the US As soon as they perform at halftime they all leave and go back to their dorms . So miss had a stud player named Weeks. He was a 6'5 strong built solid and muscular and was the So Miss high scorer with 24 pts Definatly the best player in the gym today but he tried to be a 1 man team So miss played a few different zone defenses and man to man but the Bobcats answered them by a solid attack . Gumbs the Tx st pt gd did a great job penetrating and distributing the ball and almost single handily attacked the So Miss defense. Watts is listed as a foward but played the Point gd position and is 6'6. He is 6'6 and tried to beat Tx St by himself Almost the entire roster of So Miss are juco's players or transfers. Think they have one or two freshmen that graduated from high scholl last yr. The entire So Miss roster are transfers or played at juco's last year. They also have 4 assitents coaches and 5 team managers and when they are in a time out the huddle They didn't have chairs for everyone to sit .. A lot of pushing and shoving during the game between players Very hard game to officiate . But thought the Bobcats did a better job adjusting and played better Defense . Small crowd but halftime show was great with the "Srutters " Empty gym so home court was not a big advantage except for being familiar to the baskets After half time when the " Srutters leave very quiet gym, Weeks is a stud but has a low Basketball IQ He tired to do it all his self and would drive into a mismatch of him vs 3 or 4 players ..But he is one talented kid and so far the best player I have seen this year. So Miss also has the ugliest warm ups I have ever seen Their bottoms were stripped marron and yellow and looked the the Harlem goldtrotters warm ups Anyway sat next to the visiting bench and watched Weeks and his facial expressions . I had Tx st and a few points so I won my bet . Even though it was a close game through out and So Miss had a 7'0 kid Tylick Izay from Africa who was benched and cursed back at the So Miss coach in a time out He didn't play to much in the 2nd half because the talked back in the huddle. Way to many of players, asst coaches team managers If I put on a gold shirt I could of been in the huddles and no one would of noticed . Anyway hope everyone has a good week and stays healthy But Tylick Weeks is a player and one of the best I have seen in the Sun Belt conference He is from New York City and played juco last yr at Southwest Missouri CC
