Several reasons why I like Tech tomorrow. The first has to be the status of DeAngelo Alexander's injury, which he acquired during the Texas game. Not sure whether he plays or not but if he does, he will be hobbled. He is very important to their offense...2nd leading scorer, best 3 point shooter and very good FT shooter, and he rebounds well. This offense will only suffer more if he cannot go. I know they're better than what we saw from them on Saturday but they have no inside game and will have to rely on their freshmen to knock down treys consistently without their best long range shooter.

Bob Knight factor - No doubt in my mind Knight will have this team prepared for this game. Coming off a tough loss to Kansas is a better scenario than had they won the game, IMO. No better coach to light a spark in his team's ass than Bobby Knight.

Red Raiders have been missing Thomaszek's presence inside but he got some quality minutes last game and should get some significant time in this one to help out.

In all, I'll take the well-disciplined and better shooting team on the road against the inexperienced and banged up team in this spot any day.

I didn't even mention stats but another thing I want to add is that OU is a horrible FT shooting team so if this thing comes down to the wire, I have a lot of confidence that Tech will somehow still be in this game.

In no particular order:

1. always like teams coming off a shellacking

2. Ou is unranked fav over a ranked team

3. Tech has been and continues to be a poor road team

4. OU has been much better at home than on road

5. After brouhah last year in Norman and all of TT's talk OU and crowd will be fired up

6. TT a bit let down after poor performance against KU they were really up for

7. Havent been wrong on a Tech game side selection yet so bolters my confidence

Sun, I definatly respect your opinion, but I am not quite sure that the unranked fav system is so clear cut on this game.

Okie has the public perception as being a national powerhouse, and the fact they they are not ranked this week probably wont make the public feel any different about them.

This game is a lay-off for me, but good luck to you guys

isnt TT coming off a shellacking?
why would TT be letdown after loss to KU, but OU wont be letdown after loss to UTexas? was OU not up for the UTexas game or did they know they were going to lose and didnt try hard?

i like OU as well here, but I'm not sure i understand the reasoning on those 2.

I'd be careful classifying this game into the "ranked team vs favored unranked team" system, just because OU was ranked as high at #6 this season. They are not the typical unranked home favorite. This game is tight, could go either way in my opinion.


Monk - hit on Texas last night thanks to your write up - usually avoid laying that much chalk, especially on the road, but things worked out very nicely .

Sun, those same arguments can be made for Tech man!

Don't forget about last year when the Raiders should have won at Loyd Noble but the clock operator failed to start the clock on time. This is almost the same Red Raider team as last year, only better. But this year OU doesn't have the likes of Price, Ebi, White, Bookout, or possibly even Alexander.

Under normal circumstances, I would take OU (if I were to play it) but not tonight. Raiders have too much of an edge.

Hey guys. . . interesting debate. . .but here's even more reason perhaps that the 'unranked home as favorite' theory is off here, specifically in this game: The home team in this match-up is 5-10 ATS. Take the points or ingore the game

Adding:

Memphis -3 for 2 Units (bought hook)

ECU has lost 9 of last 10 games and are 1-8 in CUSA. Memphis is on a nice run, winning their last 7. RPI's - Memphis (30) & ECU (171). Pirates have the home court edge but have lost their last 4 there (all CUSA games). If Memphis can jump out early and take the crowd out of it, their talent will carryy them the rest of the way.

I think Vegas takes those systems into account when they set the line. I've seen it a bunch this year already. This gives me an added advantage IMO and this team should have NEVER been ranked to begin with. Let the system players take OU. I'll gladly buck the trend.

Man watching that game was like watching a Comedy Central skit on cable. They must have had 30 turnovers between the two at half. Sloppy game and tough to watch. Should have taken the easier route with the Under.

No sweat though, I actually profited for the day by taking Golden St. -2.5 for 5 Units and plus my other 2 picks came through. Would have been icing if Tech would have showed up!
