TEXAS TECH/OHIO STATE Under 47.5 (Saturday) ? Ohio State figures to have one of the better defenses in the Big Ten this season, as they have 7 returning defensive starters. This is a unit that has always played much better at home, where the Buckeyes have gone Under in 30 of their last 44 games that have had a posted total. More importantly, Ohio State has already proven they could stop better spread offenses than that of Texas Tech, having contained the likes of Northwestern the last few years. Granted, Texas Tech has a Heisman candidate at quarterback in Kingsbury, but this Ohio State defense is much better than the defenses he has been accustomed to facing. Similarly, we also like the chances of Tech?s defense to contain the Buckeyes. The Red Raiders return 9 starters from one of the quickest defenses in the Big Twelve. If Ohio State has a weakness, it may very well be at quarterback, so look for Tech to pressure whoever OSU puts behind center. This has all the makings of a low scoring, defensive affair.
