TEXAS TECH +13 (Saturday) - Sure, this is a letdown spot for Texas Tech after their huge win over Texas, if you can call a meeting with Oklahoma a letdown spot. However, I simply feel that nearly 2 touchdowns is just too much to give this club that seems to be able to score at will, and that has the talent to compete with the Sooners even with the letdown factor. The Red Raiders are averaging 38.9 points per game, thanks to 396.3 passing yards per game from Kingsbury. Keep in mind that this Oklahoma secondary was torched for 4 long touchdown passes vs. a an ordinary Texas A&M passing attack, so there is no telling exactly how much damage Kinsbury and the speedy Tech receivers can do. More importantly, the Raiders are actually showing some balance on offense, RUSHING for 107.3 yards per game, which has been more than enough to keep defenses honest. The Sooners still have some nice overall numbers, but their heralded defense has shown some slippage in recent weeks, allowing 387.7 total yards of offense per game in the last 3 games. I think that Tech will match them blow by blow and take this game right down to the wire, easily hanging within single-digits.

I have to agree with you Eugene. Keep in mind though the dismal numbers that Tech posts on a natural grass field. Norman is grass and Tech is VERY used to the turf. Also, Leach was offensive coord. at OU and OU defense knows thier offense inside and out since they practice against it everyday. Also, Leach is 0-3 against Stoops.

tech has failed to get within less than 14 vs the 3 top level teams they played on the road(ohio st,colorado and iowa st).....i personally am not thrilled by the texas longhorns period...one of the worst coached teams in college football.....if stoops coached texas, they`d probably be #1 with the enormous amount of talent...tech is a bad defense on the road....no disrespect...not my cup of tea...g.l. to you, though.

Just my two cents...

Just my two cents...

I think the UNDER 62 is better than taking a side in this game. As previously posted, the offenses know each other very well, and Stoops will do anything to try to run the ball on Tech and prove to his ex-offensive coordinator that OU can run the ball. In 2000 in Norman, the score was Okla 27 Tech 13 (40 pts) and in 2001 in Lubbock Okla 30 Tech 13 (43 pts).

If I HAD to take a side in this game, I would take Oklahoma. Here's why: Oklahoma can't be beaten in Norman when it is a BIG GAME, and Saturday constitutes a big game. Big XII South on the line. When OU is awake when they play, they virtually are impossible to beat in Norman. Now, before someone mentions the Okla St game last yr, keep in mind Okla was looking ahead to the Championship game vs Colorado. Okla was flat flat flat. This time, on national TV and virtually two weeks to prepare (Baylor's an off week), OU would more than likely cover the number.

To the poster Eugene Michaels, yes Okla was torched by A&M for 4 TD passes, but keep in mind that was one game and very uncharacteristic of OU. OU will dominate defensively like they did Iowa St and Colorado in Norman IMO. If you look at the A&M game to base your reasoning, why not look at Texas or Iowa State or Colorado or any of the other games? OU had only given up 3 TD passes before A&M the entire year.

In closing - Stoops knows Leach's system well and vice versa. OU will know how to defend it... and so will Tech. TAKE THE UNDER and don't even worry about which side covers!
