I have spent the last two days really looking at all aspects of this game.

I will be posting many of the things that I have found to
explain and substantiate my wagers.

The first thing that really sticks out is that ATS this year
Texas is 6-0.

I found this in Madjacks Handicappers Guide area
which if your not using, you should. Excellant information
if you spend some time in there.

Vegas has got to be sick of a favorite winning with that percentage. The next closest team that I could find with a winning percentage was Baylor at 5-1 ATS.

Gut feeling this stays close from what I have looked at.

Time to bring home the cash.

Glad to see you on this one Scott, Sure was pulling for your ML last week. Can't wait to see the Masked Rider and Raider Red in this thread.

Texas is damn good. We need to be +2 or 3 in the turnover dept. to keep it close.

Mike Leach tore into Tech's ass after getting embarrased by UT last year and we've gone 10-1 since (Loss at A&M in OT last year) Fluky offense or not, it sure has Red Raider fans excited.

Alright KOD, time to

I've been looking at this game all week. Its getting a lot of air time here in Dallas. Capping this game is alot like the Tex/OU game. It's either gonna be really close or a huge blowout. I like what Tech does when they have the ball... however, I just don't know if they'll be able to get it to work against Texas this year. Tech +16 should be a safe bet. Good luck to you.

BIG 12 LEADERS
Texas Tech leads the Big 12 in eight statistical categories and is tied for the lead in another. Tech tops the charts in scoring offense (53.7), pass offense (472.3), total offense (572.8), turnover margin (+1.3), pass efficiency (168.2), first downs (184), fourth-down conversions (100.0) and redzone offense (94.9%). The Red Raiders are tied for the lead in PAT kicking (100%). Individually, QB Cody Hodges leads the league in passing (410.2), pass efficiency (172.1) and total offense (410.8). IR Robert Johnson tops the receptions per game chart (6.3), while RB Taurean Henderson leads in scoring (14.0). PK Alex Trlica is the league's second-leading scorer with 10.7 points per game and leads the league's kickers with 64 points this season. Defensively, FS Dwayne Slay is the leader in forced fumbles with six and needs two to break the Big 12 record.

Texas Tech leads the country in passing offense and scoring and is second in total offense. The Red Raiders also rank among the top 10 turnover margin (8) and pass efficiency (3). Hodges leads the country in total offense.

REDZONE OFFENSE AMONG NATION'S BEST
The Texas Tech offense has made 39 trips into the opponent's redzone this season and has come away with scores 37 times. The two misses have come during the last two weeks on interceptions. Of the 37 scores, Tech has 31 touchdowns, including 16 on the ground, and six field goals this season in the redzone. The Red Raiders redzone offense is the nation's best

TT is a offensive machine. Containing them all day is going to be a big chore for the Texas defense. TT will get their points. Too much talent not to.

Keeping Texas off the field will be a problem but TT defense will play good enough to get the job done. Lets face it Texas is going to score in bunchs. TT will need to hang with them. If TT can score the first TD I get 23 points. That sounds like pastromi on rye to me.

Love the fact TT has a excellant field goal kicker also. This team will not be tromped on.

This aint going to be no walk in the park for Texas.

I am not giving TT much of a chance to win this game although anything is possible. I am banking on the cover.

Sometimes you have to sniff alot of dog asses
to find the best dogs.

We were at this dog park last week and going up a hiking trail we ran into a couple that had a male great dane. Big ass dog. As the dog passed our 1 year old female Lab , the great dane swung his head around under our dogs tail and got a good whiff.

Sometimes there is nothing you can do to prevent big dogs from taking the pie.

This weekend , the Red Raiders offense is the Great Dane. They are going to stick their heads under Texas asses, and there aint going to be one damn thing anyone can do about it.

It seems simple enough.

I doubt that Sun Tzu can show his face in here.

He could not bring himself to lay down that much chalk on his team. That tells me he cant take the points and go against them either. I may have to start calling him Sun Homer Tzu.

When the money is there for the taking you go get it.

Uh....excuse me, but...

for some reason you accidentally forgot to mention anything about the strength of competition Texas Tech has faced this year.

Don't bother.

I'll do it for you.

Florida International
Sam Houston State
Indiana State

Kansas (no cover)

All of the above were at home.

Then...

The Red Raiders had to travel ("oh, darn!") to Lincoln where they caught the Cornhuskers off a double OT game.

One would think exhaustion and fatigue might have been a factor in this game greatly favoring Texas Tech. I mean double overtime can take a lot out of a team.

But that really wasn't the case. As a matter of fact, the Red Raiders really had their hands full.

And if it wasn't for an absolute gift in the closing seconds of the game, the road chalk Red Raiders would have come away with a loss / no cover.

But, luck was on their side and the Red Raiders chalked up another W. Ho - hum.

Then, the Red Raiders returned home to face Kansas State where Cory Hodges completed 44 of 65 passes for 643 yards and five touchdowns !!!

What a man !!!

Wow!

What a team !!!

TECH'S DEFENSE BEST IN YEARS
The Tech offense has company in the top 20 this year. The Red Raider defense has played a major role in the team's success this season and is ranked 18th nationally in total defense. The unit is allowing only 4.3 yards per play, 301.8 yards per game, has forced 17 turnovers and is limiting Tech opponents to 16.5 points per game, which ranks 13th nationally. The defense also has allowed only 11 touchdowns this season. The last time a Tech defense held its opponents to fewer yards per game was in 1998, while the last time the team limited its opponents to less than 17.0 points per game was in 1979.

RED RAIDERS PLAYING A MEAN GAME OF KEEP AWAY
Texas Tech has done such a good job of bullying its opponents into turnovers this season that the Red Raiders lead the league in turnover margin at +1.3 per game. The Red Raiders have recovered 12 opponents fumbles this season, while forcing 14 overall. Additionally, the pass defense has stepped up and has picked five passes on the year. In last Saturday's win against Kansas State, the Red Raiders forced key turnovers in the 59-20 win. Tech picked a pass and fell on two KSU fumbles, both forced by FS Dwayne Slay. LB Sylvester Brinkley and SS Vincent Meeks lead the team with two interceptions apiece. Slay leads the Big 12 Conference with six forced fumbles.
................................................................

I think I got Red Raider goose bumps. Slay and the other four captains will show up. Lets face it, this wager will be won by Texas Tech defense.

Sorry but I think that Texas would have a hard time playing the Cornhuskers.

Look at Ohio State. They may lose again this week.

No wonder Texas beat them. Barely

Louisiana-Lafayette 3

GAME 2 Texas 25, Ohio State 22

GAME 3 Texas 51, Rice 10

GAME 4 Texas 51, Missouri 20

GAME 5 Texas 45, Oklahoma 12

GAME 6 Texas 42, Colorado 17

that same defense that gave up a team high 31 to nebraska?

or that gave up 17 to KU at home (against that awesome KU offense that has put up 6 points in their last 2 games).

to look at offensive and defensive numbers, SOS plays a huge part:

Texas #36
TTech #111

http://www.mratings.com/rate.php?lg=cf

i dont doubt that TTech can hang with Texas and even possibly win this game (even tougher to do with the game in Austin).....but to base your reasoning on offensive/defensive numbers & rankings doesnt make a lot of sense when you consider the poor quality of opponents has played this year (outside the NU game).
