When looking at Texas you always have to factor in the ineptitude of Rick Barnes. There is zero perimeter defense and he isnt going to change defenses. He also seemingly has no problem if they go 5 minutes without Durant touching the ball. They could win this, but this is exactly the sort of team Texas struggles against.

cant deny that oregon and usc been playing well ... dont see the quickness out there for TX to comeback very easily

4 fouls in a row on USC got to love the refs trying to tightening up the game

People dont like givng other teams credit, USC is playing great too, theyd rather blame coaches ... least thats how i see it ... Pac-10 looking very solid, wsu nearly making 4 into sweet 16

So. Cal
sc is playing great

why

the coaching mismatch is the biggest gap out there....the talent level is similar as tex has the best player.

i falied to factor in barnes vs floyd

USC looks very good. Texas doesn't.....their inability to block out on the boards is what is really killing them. Texas is one and done, USC getting two and three chances on offense. Longhorns look ridiculous

Look at Barnes history as a coach....I believe it is 1 year since 1996 when he was at Clemson that Barnes has lost in the tournament against a higher seeded team....and i think even that one was an 8-9 game.

In a vacuum one could say USC has played well, but this is what Barnes does every year. He gets outcoached and loses the big game to inferior teams and talent.

Durant or not.....

I thought Texas was an extremely young team. I don't think this lose is going to be looked at as unfavorably as many of these threads are putting it.

This is one of the better games (offensively and defensively) I have seen USC play this year. They have a lot of talent, but have seen them have lapses, my bet is killed, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Texas come back in this game at some point.

You obviously dont live in Texas. One could look at this one year and say they are young...blah...blah ...blah....

But this is an annual Barnes' event. Plus if you have watched it is pretty clear that while the team hasnt played well the plan is just non-existent.

IO a bunch of the national media has been on Barnes' ass before today.....going to get very ugly....

Pretty well know that for the right job he would leave Texas. Had beena lot of smoke about Kentucky if Tubby gets the axe....doubt Tubby will and hard to see them wanting Barnes.

ESPN radio is already saying the Texas team is young and only the better teams get past this round. They are praising USC for a monster game and Floyd for a great coaching job. Nationally, I doubt Texas will catch much from this loss.

Barnes 9 years at Texas....it is either 7 or 8 times he has lost to a lower seed in the dance...plus doing it twice at Clemson. The guys is like MArty Shottenheimer when the calendar turns to March
