Well, the combination of a few beers on the golf course, a long week at work, and Vin Scully and the Dodgers on the tube, had me sleeping on the couch last night with Oakland leading heading to the ninth inning. Let's just say I was unpleasantly surprised when I woke up to a replay of the France-Croatia soccer game and checked the finals. :nono:

Anyway, I'm not real turned on by this card, but am going to play a couple for Friday night:

KANSAS CITY ROYALS (+145) Okay, betting Chris C. George can be a scary proposition given the fact that I question his ability to hit the Liberty Bell tonight, but he has managed to keep the damage to a minimum, and these Royal bats are smoking hot and just who is Paul Abbott to slow them down? This guy was released by the DRays and carries a 2-5 record with an ERA over 6, and he too, has more walks than strikeouts. He pitched well in his debut for the Phillies in Minnesota, but I think the honeymoon is over here and look for the Royals to pull out a victory in a potentially high-scoring affair.

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS (-110) The Giants beat up on a depleted Blue Jay squad earlier this week, but I still think they are playing better baseball than the Red Sox, who managed to avoid the sweep yesterday at Colorado. I am warming up to Jerome Williams, and like the fact that Tim Wakefield is 1-3 with 4.55 ERA in his career versus San Fran.

Just about ready to call it a weekend...........

Happy Friday. ;)
