A week or so ago I mentioned my brother-in-law was having a liver transplant and many here offered prayers and encouraging words, and though I thanked you then, I wanted to say it again...

Unfortunately, I just got a call that he passed away this afternoon. Apparently he had cancer inside his old liver and it had spread more than they could detect until it was too late... he never regained conciousness, and went to be with his maker around 2:20 this afternoon.

My mom is having hip replacement surgery also today, about 2500 miles away and that's not the type of news I needed to soothe me... please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers please, and understand I may not be here later in the week...

Thanks again, and sorry JACK, feel free to move this to General Forum...

My condolences to you and your family in this time of great sorrow. I had hoped that his surgery would be successful as I am sure did everyone.

Our thoughts and prayers go with you.

Randercity, sorry to hear about your loss.

Hope all goes well with mom, it moments like this that bring us all closer together.
I will say a prayer, I myself went through a hardship, was very depressed and hard on myself. But that is another story.

Hey Randercity... I'm really sorry to hear of your loss... Its really amazing how we get so caught up in our busy lives that we don't sit back and appreciate the little things in life and just continue to take them for granted.... But in times like this it really makes you think how short life really is... Maybe we can all learn from experiences like this and take more time out for the Love ones in our lives... Keep your head up and we will have your mom in our prayers.... God Bless

Randercity, My thoughts and prayers are w/you and your MOM and like Anders said a week or so ago, sometimes we need to wake up and smell the coffee.

I don't post much, but I appreciate all your hard work that goes into your selections.

God Bless

Tom

Again... thanks everyone. Just spoke with my mom, and she's doing fine. My brother-in-law had other health issues that would have made his life here miserable, and he confided in us that he didn't want to continue if he had to continue to suffer. The part that hit home with me was the fact he was only 39, same age as me, and he had gone thru so much. The one good thing that came out of all this, another brother-in-law, also 39 has quit drinking and is seeking counseling for his alcoholism, and I too have stopped drinking. My wife is a dietitian and the two just don't mix well... soo thanks again, and just know BOB is in a better place, free of pain and suffering, and my mom is doing fine.

Thanks again, and MJ, feel free to close this thread, or move it if you wish.
