Carmel 59'
Warren Central -17'

Been hemming and hawwing on this game and was going to pass but...

Undefeated Warren Central Warriors (come out and play)... Beat Hounds by 24 earlier in the season... Suffice to say these programs know each other well and for the most part Warriors have owned the Hounds as they won 35-14 last season and 40-30 in 2016.....Carmel got a W in 2015 (30-20).

Heres the thing, Greyhounds were without 2 of their studs on the Oct 5 loss, but are back to full strength here.... These two play in the same league so there are plenty of games to gauge how they did against like opponents...... Need to factor in that one of Central Top players WR David Bell (has a high ankle sprain (1,507 yards w/22 TDs).. The kid will try to play but won't be anywhere near top form.

Both teams have great offenses and their Defenses are fairly average So...

No O/U

I played this on the principal of a State Championship Contender (Chelsea) getting nearly 3 TDs.... Contrasting styles as Edwardsburg loves to run while Chelsea gets it done by air....... *Chelsea has passed 270 times this season while Edwardsburg 29.......

It's the principle!

IC Catholic Prep -10'
Bishop McNamara 64'

Should be an entertaining game as these two Conf Rivals meet again when Bishop Mac lost in Week 4 (21-20) on a Hail Mary bomb from 50 yards out with 16 sec on the clock... Irish have wanted the rematch and now we get a team that gave the seemingly invincible IC Knights the biggest run for its Money...

Plenty of Div 1 recruits on the field... IC Prep is 4-0 in State Championship games (won last 2 Class 3A Titles by a cumulative score of 78-0 so they were moved up a Div)..... IC are on a 25 game win streak and have pitched 6 shut-outs..

B Mac only surrendered 280 yards last time they played... High powered offense sometimes let's opposing teams easy access but you can bet these two will be hitting hard....

Hey Musca,

I grew up about an hour due north of Columbus, but a cousin of mine is in Ironton and a good friend of mine from high school is in Wheelersburg. I have been in the Cleveland area since 2005 and now live in downtown Cleveland...live about a quarter mile from Browns Stadium. Hope they put a good product in there in the near future!

Small phucking world man....

Wheelersburg has done a great job... That kid ly finished the game and WON the title on a broken leg. Absolute heart.

Not an awful night. Interested in your thoughts on Madison? I really like the total but could be swayed to the side.
A lot of real close losses tonight... ugh

New Lothrop -6'
Madison 53'

New Lothrop Hornets are 12-1 playing inspired ball after beating 2 Time Defending State Champs Pewamo-Westphalia 26-14....Dual threat Jr QB Avery Moore (6'3" 210 lbs) has passed for 1,578 yards w/20 TDs and rushed for 1,533 yards w/22 TDs.... Team averages 44 ppg and last won a Title in 2006....*Hornets are 98-10 in last 9 years.... 4 of 5 Starting OL are back this season and opening holes...

Madison Heights Madison Eagles average 162 receiving yards per game and 244.8 ypg scoring 96 Total TDs on the year.... Eagles have never won a state title... All eyes are going to be on Sr QB Austin Brown (6'1" 190 lbs) who is a dynamic dual threat with 2060 pass yards on 128 of 216 attempts.... He has rushed for 1,831 yards... Last season he had similar stats passing for 3,100 yards w/40 TDs... Sr RB Khyron Franklin has 1,121 rush yards (7 ypc)... Eagles suffered a devastating loss last year in the Semis and almost were tripped up again last week in a 37-34 win.... Defense has pitched 2 shut-outs in the first 2 playoff games.... Brown has great skill athletes all around him.

Honestly I was a bit surprised to see Madison as the underdog here... Not taking anything away from New Lothrop but have Madison winning outright.

They are "mirrors" of each other but the experience that Madison has makes them more than a live dog. Detroit news has a cool interview with the QB and coach. Pretty good interview. Big day tomorrow

MICHIGAN Class 1 Champ.. 10 am

Clarkston 42'
Chippewa Valley -13'

Clarkston Wolves seem to be one of those teams that are a natural fit for the State Championship Game as the team is looking for its 2nd straight title and 4th in last 6 years.... Wolves have won 3 of past 5 State Titles in Div 1 and seems to be at its best in November.... Their Defense is stout holding all playoffs opponents to a TD or less and despite losing 2 regular season games, Oxford L 20-17 and Oakpark L 21-14 and after graduating 35 Senior Starters, Wolves HC Kurt Richardson just reloads.... 1st year QB Jake Jenson isn't flashy but brings cohesion and leadership that creates balance in the Offense...

Clinton Township Chippewa Valley Big Reds is a Mouthful but team is composed and efficient with QB Tommy Schuster (6' 190 lbs) has passed for 24 TDs and has passed for 1,654 yards on 106 of 158 attempts (only 1 INT).... Sr TE/LB Marcell Lewis is going to Michigan St and Sr WR David Ellis is going to Indiana on full ride.... RB Ja'Von Kimpson will take his skills to Miami Ohio.... The offense has put up 515 points to 191.....Big Reds have had a fairly easy time of it in the playoffs..

Clarkstons State Championship win last year by the final score of 3-2.......Weird..... Both teams have one like opponent... Clarkston beat Saline last week in the Semis 21-3.....Chips beat Saline on opening week 31-26....Although Clarkston is getting it done ugly, CV has some Div 1 talent which should get them the win, but conceding 13' points is a bit too rich for me.

Indiana Class A Champ 9 am

Pioneer -28'
North Vermilion 58'

Oh wow.... Not alot to say about this match-up.... Pioneer is a scoring machine that averages 62.6 ppg while only allowing 2.8 ppg...... Some of the scores Pioneer has posted against small schools are really a bit much...Sr QB Jack Kiser (6'2" 212 lbs) is probably bigger than most OL/DL of teams faced... Kid has rushed for 1,874 yards (11.6 ypc) and has passed 1,095 yards (66% comp rate).... RB Danny Gregorich has 1,171 yards rushing.... Panthers are on a 29 game win streak and might as well be #30.

Falcons of North Vermillion are 13-1 and kind of a surprise to get to this game..... They had some close games and their ranking stayed at #7 for small schools until recently... Falcons won state in 2014 by beating Pioneer... Unfortunately, not going to happen this time.

Panthers closest game was a 31 point win.... They scored 86-0 on South Newton....

Think this one gets ugly.

Indiana Class 3A Champ 12:30 pm

West Lafayette 65'
Evansville Memorial -7

West Lafayette Red Devils averages a Class 3A best 49.3 ppg... Defense is 2nd in Class 3A only allowing 10.7 ppg... Defense is spurred by 5 Star Sr DE George Karlaftis (6'5" 260 lbs) is pretty much unstoppable and has tallied 17' sacks thus far (Purdue Bound)... Defense has other D1 talent and little Bro Soph Yanni Karlaftis (6'4" 200 lbs) is pretty special too with 98 tackles and already has full ride offers to just about every Big 10 program.... Offensively, QB Kyle Adam's (Jr 6'1")..is 258 of 366 passes for 3,479 yards w/43 TDs.... Sr RB Sage Hood (6'0" 210 lbs) is one of the best RBs to ever play for the Red Devils and owns the schools rushing record with 1,580 yards w/27 TDs..... Red Devils have 4 different WRs with at least 400 yards (Sr WR Ryan Erb has 97 catches for 981 yards w/11 TDs)...

Evansville Memorial is pretty good too with a perfect 14-0 record and QB Michael Lindauer one of the best in the state... With 3,518 yards w/47 TDs (1 of 6 QBs in State History to surpass 10,000 pass yards)... The School has 670 points scored setting the schools record of previous 549....WR Combs has 1,329 yards w/21 TDs... RB Darrius Johnson leads team with 774 rush yards....

This game features two prolific and dynamic offenses with 2 outstanding QBs... The team with the ball last might be the winner here and it will be interesting to see what adjustments Evansville makes to counter the No Huddle Offense employed by the Red Devils.... Still, Evansville is the defending State Champs and while I think they pull this out.... I like the points.

Montini Catholic -3
Joliet Catholic 59'

Montini Broncos are 12-1 and are led by a rotating QB system of Jr QB Deontay Bell (1,439 yards of total offense w/18 TDs)....Soph QB Robert Brazziel (864 yards w/14 TDs)..... Sr RB Nick Feranzo (1,235 rush yards w/16 TDs (Illinois Bound)...... Jr WR Nate Muersce (471 yards w/10 TDs).... Program seeks its 7th State Title and is 2-0 over Hilltoppers in Championship games.

HC Jake Jaworski is probably a little surprised his season is ending with a shot of a State Title considering the team is 9-4 and had to win its last regular season game just to qualify for playoffs, but now that they are there the Hilltoppers are drawing lots of attention... They soundly defeated the #1 seed Hillcrest last week 42-6...The program employs a Double-Wing Power Run Offense with Sr RB Keenan Hailey leading the way with 2,541 rush yards w/32 TDs and Sr FB Nick Iannantone with 1,297 yards rushing w/14 TDs.... Hilltoppers have a big physical OL...

Broncos have lots of experience in their DNA over Hilltoppers beating Joliet in 2009 & 2011 Class 5A Finals and also eliminated them from playoffs in 2012, 2013, and 2014.....Suffice to say Broncos have their number and the price is right for this loaded roster to get a comfortable win.

Cary-Grove -13'
Crete-Monee 69'

Cary-Grove Trojans are 13-0 and led by QB Ben McDonald, who has 1,380 rush yards w/24 TDs and 1,364 passing yards w/18 TDs in a traditional run heavy offense that is a Power Triple Option Offense and Veer.... FB/DB Blake Skol (5'10" 175 lbs) rushed for 1,337 yards w/12 TDs.... Sr RB/DB Danny Daigle (5'10" 165 lbs) has rushed for 673 yardsw/7 TDs.... Team has most of its skill players back from 7-4 season.

Warriors of Crete-Monee runs a complicated offense with a myriad of multiple offensive sets and formations... QB Trayjon Rudolph has 1,800 total yards of offense w/24 TDs "Last week he went off for 412 yards of offense w/5 TDs as the Warriors came from behind scoring 2 TDs in final 2 minutes with the help of a successful onside kick... RB/LB Ronald Carroll Jr has rushed for 669 yards w/18 TDs... WR Ricky Johnson is a big play guy that has 60 catches for 1,039 yards w/9 TDs... RB Amari Venerable has 869 rush yards w/18 TDs...... Warriors started the season with 3 straight losses before turning things around and going on a roll to the finals...

This game is a rematch of the 2012 Class 6A Title Game that Crete won 33-26.....Crete may employ a 3 QB system of rotation to keep the Defense guessing.... Still, Crete may have shot its load to get here and had everything right happen last week in Semis over Richard's but that usually means that the following week trying to pull that genie out may be a problem.

Gotta give proppers to you sir....

You are a SAVAGE with this stuff, and I mean that with the highest respect.

Where do you find the time?

I don't bet High School Sports but enjoy the back and forth from Musca and Hawk in your threads

Dedicated attention to detail is one of your strengths, and although I sometimes struggle with the thought of wagering on High School games as a legitimate enterprise, I appreciate the effort and the determination you show sir.

That Clarkston team- so good! Truly a team/school that reloads. They graduated 30 seniors from last year's team. The Chippewa Valley team has a potent team. That 3-2 final last year would have been a doosy to watch.

The book put up moneylines today! Madison is now a 1 point dog.

Weather is going to be a factor through Ohio, Michigan and in to the east coast.

Riff I bought the Wofford under at 52 so rooting for the m8ddle.

D2/d3

Ferris State +7.5 home dog to a game but young NWMO ST team. Almost insulting to be a home dog. Ferris solid team.
St. John MN -24: a dominant team playing for coach

Going to be a light day for me. FCS lines are insane.

Thank you for the kind words.... Yes, it does take a minute to cap these games but it has turned into a labor of love and sometimes there is some great value out there....... *Not great money to be made on straight bets but putting some of the games in open parlays has been great value...... Yeah, HSF sometimes feels dirty as we are talking about High School kids here.... That's why it's titled Degen Plays for Degenerate x11:

Musca..... I didn't get a chance to post some of the later games as I was called away.... Really going to miss the full slate of FCS games..... Been fantastic in FCS, but inexplicably my FBS Plays have been a disappointment.... Still have time to come up during bowls.....

I was very disappointed that Bosco/Mater Dei game had no line.... Mater Dei won the rubber match and will now play No Cal DeLaSalle in the Championship.... Time to devote more attention to basketball as it's that time of year.
