Between Green Bay and Iowa City
NCAA YTD: 41-39 (+6.30*)

My very full card from last week was all cream at the top (4-0 and +6.00* and all by double digits ATS) and all sludge at the bottom (0-9 and -9.90* and mostly hideous). A very nice year likely flew the coop with that bit of overindulgence.

The early plays for 0.50* to 1*right out of the chute on Monday morning were:

USC(-10)
Virginia(+7)
Kentucky(+8)
Toledo(-3)

Also looking closely at Pitt(-2) and I'm keeping my eyes open for just one more play if it rates as too good to pass up. But six college plays all weekend is going to be the max.

All plays later.

---------- ---------- ----------

USC been berry, berry good to me. I took a long look at this team after they wreaked destruction in Boulder. I was far from deterred after Kansas State surprised me with maybe its best team ever and yet the no quit Trojans nearly stole the game. I was lucky enough to stay off them in a tough spot at Washington State and take the points in a pivotal game against Cal. Other than that, with a schedule that trumped the one that crushed Iowa State's season, it's been about thrice as righteous as anything the impeccably coached Irish have produced. (And a Rose Bowl matchup against IOWA suddenly looms large. ) The tempo and intensity of the defenses on Saturday should leave no doubt about the best traditions of this rivalry. I'm sure the Irish backers are humming a few tunes of their own. If you haven't been along for the ride you might look for better value elsewhere, but with the places the Trojans have taken me this year, there is no way I see this team letting this one get away.
