Why isn't this on the national networks?

So much for getting the word out for helping out our Americans.

Where's Eminem coming on and saying Barack Obama hates white people?

Honestly, scratch the political BS behind what happened and why this story got buried, but I am curious why the 3 big networks didn't pick this up.

It's not on national TV because, even though everyone in the country is aware and invested in helping the people affected, outside of the greater NJ area Bruce Springsteen is a capable music-maker, not a God, Bon Jovi never has been a decent band and Adam Sandler is still not funny. I assume even people in the northeast know that Billy Joel's 15minutes are long past due and has been replaced by Billy Joe (once he gets out of rehab).

I am glad to see Chris Martin is there as that is time better spent than creating more Coldplay music or Paltrow apples.

I've got the concert on DVR and will watch selectively and encourage all to help the cause in whatever way they can. Perhaps donate a few dollars on the side to prevent Sandler from making another movie.

The best acts are the guys that act their age. Springsteen, Joel, Clapton, Bon Jovi, Waters, Stipe, the guy from Cold Play, Keyes, The Who, maybe a few more. The Stones were hard to watch. McCartney, maybe the worst I ever saw him. The songs that he acted his age on sounded great but his set was mostly crap. IMHO

But a great night overall.

honestly don`t get sandler either.....i have no idea how this guy survived saturday night live(which was ,imo,,a train wreck for him)....if comedy i.q. translated to regular i.q.,this guy wouldn`t have enough brain power to:

1)cut a 2x4 with a circular saw
2)understand that the end of a soldering iron is hot
3)drive a car w/ a standard transmission....

maybe it`s me...i just don`t get sandler`s schtick...

It would be awesome if the "stars" in our country, and everyone else for that matter, would show the same compassion with people who deal with poverty, homelessness, and hunger in our country on a daily basis. But man, throw a mother-nature induced tragedy out there and the attention whores come running. Sure, it goes to a great cause. Why do we need to wait for disaster to raise money like this? It should be annual.

unfortunately compassion is a trauma induced reaction for alot of people..

if we Americans cared as much about the evolution of the species as we did our individual selves we would be much closer to the humans we were meant to evolve to.

I suppose that it depends on your perspective. For a man his age he still has great vocal range. Is it what it used to be? No but it's not expected to be. His band has been playing together for ever and is tight as they come. I was surprised but pleased he opened with Helter Skelter and thought that overall he was very good. This however comes from a self proclaimed Beatles junkie so I fully admit my bias.

I am not talking about the vocals. I have heard him recently playing with Bruce at Hyde Park and doing "She's Just Seventeen" Fantastic. To my ears his music was mostly noise last night. Sounded like the band was falling down the stairs with their amps on 11. As for the reunion....not a Nirvana fan.

We will agree on that point. I like Nirvana but Nirvana fails to exist without Cobain. That was not enjoyable.
