The 72 gold medal game earned its spot - what a shame that of all things an "amatuer" competition had to be so crooked.

Before I even look at the link....

'72 USA-Soviet basketball game
CU-Mizzou Fifth down game
Derkinger call in '85 World Series
Jeffery Maier game NYY/Baltimore

They have to be up there, let's see if I know what I'm talking about....

All four are mentioned. Can't believe I forgot about the Hand of God or the crease-goal in the Buffalo-Dallas Stanley Cup Finals.

I don't know about the Lions/Steelers coin flip being up there. For one thing, I watched that game live and I could've swore that I heard "tails... heads" on the flip. And even if I'm wrong, no one would bitch from Pittsburgh if it had come up tails and they would've gotten the ball. A coinflip doesn't belong on the list. But the '72 basketball game... man.... talk about a snow job. I was over six years from being born when that happened, and everytime I read about that I still get pissed. Just pure bullshit.

roy jones jr.

roy jones jr.

summer olympics fighting a korean in the gold medal fight.
roy did everything but knock the guy out. he dominated more than i've ever seen and they gave it to the korean. the olympics that year was in Korea.
it was the most disgusting thing i've ever seen in sports.

Holyfield got jobbed in the Olympics for knocking the opponent out after the bell.Giving Leonard the win in the fight with Hagler for raising his arms after rounds was a definate fix.

I haven't looked yet myself....

but your 1st two are solid candidates IMO

I think to this day the US team hasn't accepted their medals;) I heard Doug Collins a while back talk about the game.

I'd love to see Colorado give up the win like Cornell did after reviewing the tape.:thefinger

I don't like that school's current coach and don't like the previous one even more.

Amen Dukie!

I know many wouldn't consider figure skating a sport but wasn't the Gold Medal in the Pairs event in the last Winter Olympics between the Russians and the Canadians a bad call??
