Atlanta +133

This game is in the bag! Maddox lifetime record against the Cubs is 11-3. The Braves had the best record in the Majors. Maddox has won 4 Cy Young awards. Maddox loves the cold weather.

Mark Prior is from California. Enough said. Californians are wimps especially in the COLD. Mark Prior is a good pitcher but he's a ROOKIE. The cold winds of Wrigley will cut through him like razor blades.

Remember the Cubs are the lovable losers. They will live up to their name tonite.

Good Luck

Cub are a Joe Public play imho. As much as I think
Maddox is overpaid for age and results, Atl as a dog
in a playoff game is the place to be.

doubt that lockboy
Maddux is in huge decline, he gets shelled every other outing.
Apparently you haven't watched too many Cubs game.
Prior is dominant.
Braves may win, but far from a lock
Get a clue, dipshit

1. Hey Johnny, first of all learn how to write. " too many Cubs game"

2.Who the Fu@k are you calling me a dipshit.

3. Prior is from California & hates the cold weather & is a rookie. Prior's record in 50 degrees or less is 0-2. Learn how to handicap and look deep into the numbers. CHUMP!

Prior not a rookie; started 19 games last year and 30 this year.

His record this year in April (when it was colder than it will be tonight) was 4-1

4/3 @NYM 6 IP 4 H 1 ER (W)
4/9 MON 9 IP 4 H 0 ER (W)
4/14 CIN 6 IP 5 H 3 ER (L)
4/19 @Pitt 9 IP 6 H 1 ER (W)
4/25 @Col 7 IP 5 H 2 ER (W)

Yeah, Maddux is 11-3 against the Cubs, but he is no longer the Cy Young Maddux and the Cubs are no longer the league doormat.

I agree that getting the Braves as an underdog in the playoffs is a very compelling reason to bet them, but to say that Prior is not a cold weather pitcher is just flat out wrong.

Johnny Wager - I agree with what you said, and having a dissenting opinion is fine. But there is a difference between disagreeing and heaving insults, especially in someone else's thread. Try to show a little more class.

Just my 2 cents from watching Maddux pitch many games.

He is no lock thats for sure. He struggled like hell to win his 15th game for a record of years doing that.

He is 37 and has the potential to get shelled.

If Sheffield dont step up and start hitting Braves could go down with a thud in this game.

Chicago fans will be nuts. Cubs bats should wake up tonight.
In my opinion Cubs want this game 10 x more than Braves.

From what I have seen Prior is a stud and he aint no rookie.
He will baffle the Braves lineup.

I doubt weather has any effect on either pitcher once they get warmed up. The hitters may suffer some .

agree with the king of dogs=---Prior is no rookie, Mr. Lock obviously has not seen him pitch, so for anyone that is reading his thread, know that Prior will be nasty, overpowering, and flat out dominate the Braves line-up. Maddux, this is not the Maddux of old, he does get lit up at times(as king of dogs pointed out)--and going against a solid, exerienced Cubs line-up, in front of a sold out crowd, where the crowd is going crazy, u think New York, is crazy, wait until tonight. Atl. is no lock--the furtherst thing from it to be quite honest, althought this is baseball and anything can happen, under these circumstance i feel cubs win this game 8 times out of 10------Whoo Prior, can't wait--he is the real deal, and will show it tonight. THis guy can get away with walks because his stuff is that good, he can get strike-out with men in scoring postion. No disrespect Mr.Lock--but have to disagree with u 100%

Braves did win 3 out of 4 in Wrigley this year, but that was in July. This cubs team totally wants it more. Prior is easilly the second half MVP this year in the NL. Maddux is still good, but he is not the same pitcher as when he was young. Fans are gonna be nuts. I heard on the radio too that the Braves record in games under 50 is like 5-12.

My aplogies. That was very classless on my part.

That being said, I don't like the word lock (cause its far from).
Also, you can't stereotype a state with 28 million. Being a Californian doesn't mean being a wimp.

Prior anyday over Maddux.
Old guy gets shoved out the door tonight.
Good luck though

Again, sorry. I was way out of line.

Prior's only start this year vs. ATL wasn't too impressive...

4.2 IP (left b/c of injury I think)
6 H
6 R
6 ER
3 BB
2 HR

Hope he does better tonnight, as I would love for the Cubbs to go to the WS.

Prior hasn't pitched against a team with any talent in a while. Tonight will be a big step up for him, in a monster situation. Maddux has been here before and can hear the fat lady singing. He's beaten the Cubs his last three starts against them. Atlanta knows it should be down 0-2. Cubs blew it not winning the last one. They'll be talking about how Dusty blew another series after this one is over. Guy is getting out managed by Cox in this series.

the tension that comes with the term "lock"... lets call ATL a log :D

regardless of pitcher check both teams hitting numbers vs R (compared to vs L in case of chicago) ;)

It wasnt changed 20 times. So if your going to lie about things then at least lie honestly.

I have learned alot from last year. Things are differant now.

The smell of money is in the air. And it smells green.
