Marine, you don't get the respect you deserve around here and Trampled pickets the funerals of those who served in the military so why speak with this guy who hates America?

Alot of bullshit in this post.

When did TU picket funerals?

How does he hate america?

I guess its easy to just accuse people of hating america that you disagree with.

I guess the true american questions nothing and has zero thoughts of their own.

Thanks for agreeing to my point that we are spending money to keep men stationed in South Korea. Money we can't afford. At the same time those soldiers are fostering more hatred for America causing more blowback.

Thanks for displaying even more ignorance.

South Korea pays the US nearly 1 billion dollars a year for the cost of keeping US Troops in South Korea.

Speaking of ignorance. One penny is too much to spend in South Korea. Is that clear enough for you? Fucking embarrassing.

I wonder what it would be like to go through life as dumb as some of these morons. Do you ever wonder sometimes if its just their DNA or just a lack of intellectual curiosity?

Have a good 4th. :toast:

if we get rid of our military bases overseas, how long will it take before North Korea invades South Korea and fills the streets with blood?

Let me help you out with that answer, marine:

I don't know, and neither do you, whether North Korea will invade the South. More importantly, I don't care, and neither should you.

Your blood in the streets forecast is exactly what politicians said about Taiwan after WWII, that the Communist Chinese would invade and slaughter them. We kept troops in Taiwan for 25 years based on that BS, then pulled out in 1975. Did blood run in the streets? Nope. The Taiwanese are doing just fine.

NK is SKs problem, not ours. If they can't or won't defend themselves, too damn bad. It is not our place to defend, with our money and blood, the citizens of a two-bit country half way around the globe. If North and South Koreans want to slaughter each other, let them do so.

Can you not remember Viet Nam? We flushed 58,000 of our young men, and untold dollars down that sewer, then we retreated, NV invaded the South. And what bad happened to us? NOTHING.

Now it's your turn to answer - why did we throw away all those men in Viet Nam? What did we accomplish? How do YOU explain to the survivors of those men that their lives were simply thrown away for a political lie, for nothing?

It's good that there are patriots willing to fight and die for the USA. It's despicable when the war mongers throw those men away for nothing.

Isn't this your quote?

"I hope they are coming for all the whiteys DTB. I heard they were going to start in Kentucky."

You might consider that for your signature!

---and speaking quotes/signatures--this thread was going along fine until we get this from our resident Tramp--

"Anyone who signs up for military service is an idiot."

--and goes on to say--

"And I totally understand some people cry about how they needed some structure in their life and the military helped them. That is an excuse for weak people."

Hmm I have said before and will say again military had huge impact on my life--by your definition that makes me "the weak"--

-but you on the other hand while hiding here for a decade like a roach--groveling for every gov tit/and tax increase known to mankind--
would like us to believe you are--"the strong"

You might want to consider-
"anyone that signs up for military is an idiots"
-as your signature.

Pretty much tells one all they need to know--
-
however you might want to add something about how weak they are compared to you-just in case

The truth hurts doesn't it? If I recall you said something to the effect that you could have lived a much different life. You were tempted by bad thoughts before joining. I call that weak. If you had to join the military to straighten your young mind out.

Exactly Duff. Lets say we did indeed leave South Korea. The North still woulddn't make a move cause they know we would be right back there. Oh wait maybe not. South Korea doesn't have any of that black gold. Let these fukers fight their own battles.

So, asidr from the fact that there have been not so friendly incidents in recent memory indicating it will happen..

And if NK/SK do mix it up, given it's location - Russia and China will immediately start to arm up, and very likely get involved in an efforts to protect their borders. Which will create a pretty hefty conflict in that region.

But as long as we bring the troops out of the area there it's all good right?

Marine:

1. I asked you a direct question -

Now it's your turn to answer - why did we throw away all those men in Viet Nam? What did we accomplish? How do YOU explain to the survivors of those men that their lives were simply thrown away for a political lie, for nothing?

What is your answer?

2.
You say -

And if NK/SK do mix it up, given it's location - Russia and China will immediately start to arm up, and very likely get involved in an efforts to protect their borders. Which will create a pretty hefty conflict in that region.

NK and SK might start hostilities. So what? Why should we have our troops in the middle of that?

Russia and China might "arm up"? Good grief, man, Russia and China are armed to the teeth already with conventional and nuclear weapons. Are you saying we should prevent them from protecting their own borders? WTF?

3.
You ask -

But as long as we bring the troops out of the area there it's all good right?

Yes, bringing our troops out is a very good idea. Our troops should not be deployed anywhere unless we are threatened. North Korea is no threat to us. If Koreans want to kill each other, it is not our problem.

So how is this any of our concern?

Why do we have to be the world police?

It's classic neoconservatism.

Neoconservatives like Marine want us to believe the world is full of "boogeymen" out to get us. They accept no responsibility for the consequences of American hegemony, intervention and military presence on foreign soil. The bad guys simply hate us for our freedom, as Dubya put it.

So our foreign policy becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. We intervene in the affairs of sovereign nations for our own political and economic gains and the resulting blowback creates the public and political support that fuels our miltary industrial complex.
