"the bunker"
Newspapers have gutted their staffs almost completely. To the tune of more than three quarters. There are thousands of journalists out of work. Editorial staffs, photo staffs, writers, ad reps, pressroom, circulation and on and on. Why haven't you heard much about it? They aren't gonna to print that in the newspapers. Are they? I've seen some mention by competitors. Chicago Sun Times let their entire photo staff go.

The reason being; they can't make money from the internet to support themselves. There just isn't enough revenue that there was in print journalism. And slowly but surely, the printed paper will be a thing of the past.

So when you think "cheap assholes," just realize they won't be around much longer.

And when you think about newspapers and journalists dying off completely, remember that it will be the end of Democracy to a certain extent. There will be no check and balances in this country. City, state and national government will go on about there business unchecked. No one will know what law enforcement is doing, what your city council is doing or passing, your state legislators, crime criminals in the city and so on and so on.....People don't really know what they're asking for, if they want to see newspapers completely die off. JMO.

newspapers are no different than any other type of news organization(t.v./internet etc)....they all have a political p.o.v. and people read or watch the news outlets/orgs. that most suit their own ideologies.....

the reason newspapers are becoming obsolete is because there are so many other choices(and people are making other choices).....they`re going the way of the buggy whip....
