So true. The defense is getting criticized -- and the run D has sucked - but most of it has been the O not giving them a break or any field position.
Take it easy guys, you can have Leftwich. He has not impressed me. I don't want to hear his name with the heismann anymore. He is not that good in my opinion. That does not mean he won't be a great Pro. He just needs to learn how to read a defense and look off his recievers better.
I bet I would look like the best player in the nation if I played against junior high girls too......
Leftwich is good, but not what he is made out to be......I think that race has a big part of the hype...all the media people want to hype him because he is a black quarterback out of a small college.....that makes them feel good....that makes them feel like they are supporting an anti-stereotype.......the political correctness has invaded the media.....i can barely find a guy in the sports field who doesn't think that Augusta National is a bunch of bigots.....they all think that not having a woman member is the biggest crime since excluding blacks from the busses or something else.....just a ridiculous comparison.....same goes here....the media sees the white QB getting all the hype year in and year out so they go and try to give hype to a black quarterback who undoubtedly is good -- but good against inferior athletes -- and try to make him out like the second coming.....
Leftwich is unimpressive to me.....his release is very slow -- the guy winds up to make a throw.....he is slow and not very mobile -- absolutely NOTHING like McNabb or Culpepper.....and in that conference, rarely si there a DB within 5 yards of a receiver.....until Va Tech played and we all saw how effective he was against them until the prevent defense errr the flag football defense came in in the 4th quarter.....

I dunno about all that race stuff Freeze, I think we'll have to agree to disagree. PC is overdone by media types, no doubt, but that sounds like a reach to me. Maybe he's is just really good? The NFL scouts seem to think so, and I don't think they are looking to the media for their evaluations.
He is not comparable to McNabb by any means. McNabb may be the best QB in the NFL right now,though. Culpepper, well, he isn't looking so hot these days.

Leftwich is the real deal and will be an excellent NFL QB. Of course he isn't like Culpepper or McNabb...he is a pocker passer, not a combo passer/scrambler...and is a better 'pure' passer at this point than either of those two were at the same stage in their careers. I sincerely hope Cincy lands the first pick and draft him.

hellah dont misconstrue my words....nothing was said about "inferior"......and nothing is more irritating than to have yourself misquoted....especially in the area of race
maybe it just looks like it takes him a while to release the ball because he stares down his receivers.....but it appears to me he takes a good sling at it....
if you look at my statements about big 12 QB's this year, I don't think you will find a bigger critic of the Golden Boy, Hybl, Lord, Roberson, Farris, or anyone else on here.....i look at things objectively even though i am a fan of a conference....you, however, look at the MAC through rose colored goggles....

Cashing paychecks... the defense looks good/tolerable for the first few series, then becomes tired and lackluster.
Kitna is unfortunately their best chance this season at QB. Unless they can sign someone it will be a long season.

If you put Leftwich on Florida and Grossman on Marshall, Grossman wouldn't be on anyone's Heisman list.

I have seen him play enough to know that he is very talented but will be unable to carry it to the NFL and succeed. Wasting your pick on this guy. JMO.
