But don't you think that Riddick is a NBA caliber player with his 3 points shooting and will go in
top ten in draft ?

I got to think so watching him over the last two years.

Top ten in the draft? Are you serious?

too bad they can change conferences for a few games and get a taste of the difference in defenses. bet redick would love to suit up against usc, wash, cal and some of those other west coast defenses. i agree the zona kid needs more press and redick less. actually redick needs a point guard more than anything. wish livingston were driving and dishing for duke instead of playing 12 games for the clippers.

So funny how fans from the ACC think their conference teams play great defense. Complete b.s. and no excuse for Reddick ESPECIALLY when you consider that Reddick DID NOT shoot any better during the non-conference games that Duke had. In fact, I believe his averages have slightly increased since the conference season began.

ACC has several great offensive teams. . . more so than the Pac-10. . . but they certainly do not have better defensive teams compared to some other conferences

to me, redick will be selected somewhere between #17 to #23. solid first rounder, but definitely not a lottery pick. good size, unlimited range, and has the ability to shoot off the dribble. he'll go to a fringe playoff team and definitely help someone out.

I agree. . . Reddick is still a damn good player and should be a mid-range first round pick. . . this was not a bash on him or Duke/ACC followers. It was merely to point out what many of you have missed living on the east coast this season including Dicky V who is absolutely clueless.

Reddick is a quality player and will do fine in the NBA. It would be better for him and Duke if he took a couple less shots per game but during certain times, you definitely want the ball in his hands.

So. Cal
Nckel you're wrong...the ACC DOES play the best defense...Dukie V and ESPN say so, so it must be a fact. Don't let meaningless things like stats or proof cloud your judgement...just listen to espn and all will be fine.

I find it interesting that they ALL just dismiss the fact that, as a conference, the pac-10 is 2nd in the rpi. They treat that fact like there is NO WAY that could be possible, so something is flawed. However they will use the same RPI ranking for every east coast conference to tout how high that conf rpi is. It's a complete joke.

I llistened to Paul Hewett talk about how great the ACC is now with Miami and Va Tech and that they are better now in the ACC because of less travel. Hey Paul, try traveling in the Pac-10 wed-ssun am going from Tucson to Pullman, then compare your road trips throughout acc land and tell me how hard those "trips" are.

JUST REREAD MY QUOTE AND CAN'T FIND WHERE I USED THE WORD GREAT TO DESCRIBE THE DEFENSES IN THE ACC.SEEMS LIKE IT'S NOT JUST ACC FANS THAT HAVE LITTLE RESPECT WESTERN TEAMS. THE NATIONAL MEDIA[PAC TEN EXCLUDED] SEEMS TO FEEL THAT WAY ALSO. THROW OUT ARIZONA AND GONZAGA AND WHO ELSE IS WORTH A DAMN?

but I really do hate how players who perform well all year are put 2nd on the list to guys who only play when it matters (Brady and ReddicK)
Brady only plays "when it matters"? If that is true then "when it matters" must mean "all the time". That guy is one of the most competitive players I've ever seen. Even when he was at Michigan he competed. Everyone wanted Henson to start but Brady refused to give up the position. His leadership skills and competitiveness and willingness to play within the system are what make him so good.

what does texas have to do with this thread? lowell do you ever have anything constructive to add, or is it your goal to constantly bash Texas, a team that yes I root for but I hardly say anything positive about? yeah laettner and fairy were great - lol. Have they been long nba players - sure - but nowhere near what was expected or justifying where they were drafted. Brand and Deng and Maggettte are looking very good early in their careers - no coincidence they are they guys that left school early

Best Defenses...toughest most physical

Best Defenses...toughest most physical

Big East......
Seems to me that year after year the press goes for the flashy records while the BE beats each other silly.......Then comes the tournament.......
They are certainly not always up but I believe consistently underrated.........If you can score in the BE you can score anywhere...including the NBA
