2 jazz fests

2 jazz fests

I have been down on two separate occasions to New Orleans when the jazz fest was going on. It was absolutely fantastic, I will definitely go down next year. I was there last year, this year life got in the way....

I have been to a lot of music festivals, and Jazz Fest is hands down the best.

Roots.

Cheers

Anthony Bourdain on New Orleans food

"In America, there might be better gastronomic destinations than New Orleans, but there is no place more uniquely wonderful. ... With the best restaurants in New York, you'll find something similar to it in Paris or Copenhagen or Chicago. But there is no place like New Orleans. So it's a must-see city because there's no explaining it, no describing it. You can't compare it to anything. So, far and away New Orleans."

? Anthony Bourdain, host of the CNN travel show Parts Unknown, when asked in a CNN interview to name the one U.S. city he thought people should experience for food.

music lovers, check out this website for a look at what's going on around town at night during the fest

http://www.jazzfestgrids.com/

seriously, it's sick at night all the way through next Monday - I used to try to go to a bunch of the night shows but at my advanced age it's too hard to try to go out at night and then make it out to the Fair Grounds by day - some venues (take a look at the Maple Leaf, for example) have early shows, then middle of the night shows, then sunrise shows starting at 3am

If you love live music and have never been to the NO Jazz and Heritage Festival, you are truly missing out

Have a great time Gentlemen. I LOVE your city and will be back there in September for a 4 day weekend. Trying to decide which weekend. Will definitely meet for dinner with you guys, at an old school restaurant. My treat. :toast:
