Airportis, on the same day your replied in my thread about your opinion on the Belmont, I forgot to mention something that I saw on TV. Two "expert" cappers were discussing the Belmont and said they can't believe how that there Mubtaahij hoss that you wrote about, is prepping for the Belmont. They said that the trainer, de Kock (pardon the French) is a good trainer, but WTF is going on with that hoss??? NOW I SEE WHAT THEY WERE TALING ABOUT
I don't know what the hell he's trying to accomplish by working that shipper EVERY 3rd day for OVER a month and EVERY 5th day during the previous month; it will be interesting to see what kinda results that kwazyness produces. Tellya, I do like that horse's running style based on it's Ireland races. I also like the fact that this horse, bred for the turf, took a much greater liking to a dirt track too. That's about as far as it goes for this one for me though.
Pharoah looks pretty much of a cinch to me; always looks good on the track, doesn't need to bring his own racetrack with him no matter where he runs, great temperament, connections that know how to handle big events, etc. But I don't bet cinches when it comes down to one that's going for the Triple Crown. Taking a stand against the favorite in this situation is probably the best bet in horse racing. Gotta admit, I ain't too excited this year about taking on Pharoah this year.
I'll need to see how Materiality looks before the race before betting ANTHING. I'll have enough dough down on my Philly dirt bags to satisfy me today and that means I may only be a watching fan for the Belmont. I liked Johnny V's horse in the derby and LUV the fact that he skipped the Preakness, there's no better connections that J.V. and Pletcher, and this one ran a great race after a hesitant, terrible start in the derby. BIG factor I noticed is how this FRONT RUNNER closed out his unlucky (startwise) Derby race. The steady, progressive workouts since the Derby make me like this one even more. Pretty sure I'll be more than just a watcher if this one goes off at it's morning line odds, which I doubt will be the case.
G.L today.
