Oh, I realize I am in the minority. It is the crazy obsession with football that has destroyed college sports. The breaking up of conferences by greedy schools chasing football dollars is very sad.
I also feel sad for people who get all depressed when college football ends. Conference basketball is just starting! How you can not get into that is beyond me. I am very happy to be in the minority of people who can happily enjoy most sports. I love watching football, sure. But that isn't my whole life. I can happily watch soccer, tennis, basketball and baseball, too. America would be a better place if everyone wasn't so damn wrapped up in football. Just my 2 pennies.

soccer bores me fairly quickly but much respect for people who can run that much....
Soccer can be boring, but it is as exciting a sport as any other when played right. Watching a team like Barcelona move the ball around is simply gorgeous. The best part about soccer is no commercials!
I've never really liked soccer but now my kids have been playing for several years and things have changed. I now love it and like watching my kids as well as anyone else play it. It really is a sport that you have to understand to appreciate.

I coached my 5 year old daughter's soccer team this past fall and I didn't have a clue what to do, either. granted, they were 5 and 6 year olds--a co-ed team--more herdball than soccer-- but 5 out of my 8 players had played the year before and were teaching me and my assistant how to do drills and scrimmage correctly. We went 5-1 on the season.....:toast:
