The Boys and any other Detroit Residents..looking for some info

My son and a buddy are going to this Sunday's Tiger game which starts at 3:30. Unfortunately the Lions play at 1:00. I'm guessing parking will be an absolute nightmare.

They are coming from out of town and I'm looking for a decent (safe and relatively inexpensive) place for them to park.

Any info will be much appreciated..thanks.

This is what I do to all Detroit sporting events. Mario's restaurant offers a free shuttle to and from the game. Just tip the valet, maybe $5.00. Fast and easy, can't be beat.

You are right it will be a cluster fuk for parking, I've never used it but have friends that do http://www.nemosdetroit.com/shuttle.html also the MGM Grand Casino is down the street from Nemo's. Hope they the game.

They don't have to go in, just park the car and get on the shuttle bus.

The 2 stadiums literally are across the street from each other. There will be a ton of people and a ton of PD, as long as they don't venture into the run down neighborhoods they will be fine. These neighborhoods are quite a bit away so if they did head that way then they're lookin for trouble, otherwise it's fine. I have gone downtown a lot, day and night without a problem. No need to be carrying a piece as long as they still in the in the area where everything is happening, which is a pretty good size to play around in.
