Sun Tzu said:The Bush hype isnt true either....in the NFL he will end up your typical third down back..it says volumes when Carroll doesnt even have him on the field for the biggest plays. His so called "great games" were against paper mache defenses. And how can you use a #1 pick on a guy that will at best have about 15 touches a game. Makes no sense at all.
flapjack said:Your right, what do NFL scouts know? Weren't his biggest games actually in the biggest games SC played over the past 3 years? Even in the Rose Bowl loss to UT, I believe he still had like 375 total yards -above his season average!

But the 3 that come to mind are Fresno St. (i geuss Nevada, Tulsa, La Tech have the greatets offenses of all time as well) ASU (40 to Rutgers!!! and 114 in D, and UCLA (1 of the worst rushing Ds ever)
Great post Sun Tzu,Sun Tzu said:He didnt have anywhere near 375 yards of offense. He had 82 rushing and 95 receiving, which included a 40 yard screen (before the lateral) that half of MJ's would have gotten as far and the 30 yard shovel pass at the end where every Texas player was standing 30 yards back in a full prevent.
Last I checked 82 plus 95 is a tad short of 375. Perhaps you are counting his enormous 20 yard per kickoff return average (which again half of MJ's could run it back to the 20), but that only gets you to 279.
But lets not get let the facts get in the way.

to say that Bush is one of the greatest of all time and rivalry this and carried team on his back. I mean Bush is a great player, but he was not the best ever or anything that couldnt be stopped. Texas stopped SC and Bush. The "thoery" that Bush only didnt run rampant on teams because White was too busy scoring is a joke. And even IF that theory was true, so what, he did it against the worst collection of rushing defenses of any team.
