Yes, I think the dear Brigadier General in charge of logistics is being disingenuous at the very least.

20 BILLION is an astronomical number.

You excel in telling everyone how brainless and dumb they are, and here you are taking the word of this one man as if it were the word of Al Gore.

If you want to believe we can provide air conditioning and everything required to deliver that in areas of the world with no existing infrastructure without incurring "astronomical" costs, and instead choose to believe that Gen. Anderson pulled that number out of his ass, so be it.

I don't tell anyone they're "brainless or dumb". I don't believe in insulting one's intelligence; however, I do enjoy exposing false statements, lies, innuendo and partisan spin. :0008

I guess you?re right, it all boils down to whom you believe and I choose not to believe the figure he gives.

Good Discussion, sorry I got you mixed up with somebody else for a moment...you are one of the better conversationalist. I apologize for the innuendo.

I appreciate your candor. :0008

I will admit that the good General does appear to be playing with numbers because fuel, roads, command & control and medevac support are used to support the overall operational costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But the point I take away from the story is the high cost of maintaining large numbers of ground troops in such inhospitable environments. With the technology, intelligence and special ops forces we have in our arsenal, I fail to see how we benefit militarily, politically or economically by having such a large scale ground based troop presence in these places.
