Baylor-Texas game....damn...up 11 with 2 minutes and the ball...Texas hits a 3 at the end,but hits 2 more 3's ...Baylor didn't contest their shots at all..up 8-10 pts just let them shoot...that game hurt..sorry for anyone that followed me on that....and what made matters even worse...this morning by racquetball partner who has season tickets to the womans ,gives me a Longhorn pink T-shirt that they gave out for their "pink out" promotion... he said they were free folded on every seat...I thanked him and took it but said this Longhorn t-shirt cost me about $150 bucks...and he responded " no it was free"... "I know John it was free, never mind"...
And my daughter-in law still didn't have her baby baylor cubbie...4 days overdue...

Mizzou -8 over Miss ***** { update Mizzou is now -7 *****..wow
Love Mizzou at home tonite..they had won 4 or 5 in a row,,then lost to LSU....they are fighting to stay in the top 4 in the SEC...Mizzou beat them 2 weeks ago away by 6...have won vs some good teams at home..UK,Tenn,Tx AM,Geo,etc..meanwhile Rebs have lost 7 of 8...getting beat on the rd by Miss St,LSU,Tenn,Texas and Ark by 17,16,31,7,and 4...Mizzou is led by Kassius Robertson...yes a graduate transfer of Canisius...he was over heard saying.." this SEC conf is nothing like my MAAC conf".. I wasn't even my leading scorer as a Griff"...I might make 2nd team all SEC.. I made 6th team all MAAC"...yes,yes,,
Think Mizzou wins this by double digits..but Miss just threw a "monkey wrench" in this ..They let coach resign this week...I don't want that...maybe these Rebels will be inspired by their new coach..... Naaa... strong play

NC St -5 over BC **
BC on the rd is bad..

Ohio St -14.5 over Rutgers **
Can't believe I'm giving up 2 touchdowns to the Buckeyes...but its Rutgers on the road in the Big 10...they are 2-44 on the rd{ made that up}

Buffalo -6 over Miami **
A little gun shy because the Bulls aren't covering yet winning...

St Louie +5.5 over Dayton **

Creighton +6 over Butler ***
Now I know Butler is playing better but the Blue jays still have a Foster on their team..

Arkansas -5.5 over Kentucky **
Hogs at home are tough to beat..see some payback over the last 10 years in this series...when a hog has someone down he........not sure what a hog does when someone is down..I'm from the Bronx...can someone from the midwest or south help me on this..

Baylor +1 over West Vir ***
Think Bears are playing great..they have the gds that can stay with the WV gds,,they have the inside players in the post..they are long, athletic etc...

URI -7 over La Salle ****
URI had its 16 game streak broken by the Bonnies...they still have an explosive offense but theri defense is outstanding..they beat them awhile back 74-62 at home...but since LASalle went on to lose the last 3 in a row..had 19 turnovers and URI had 10 steals...LaSalle at home lost to Bonnies, and VCU by 11 and 6..but beat GMason,Mass,Fordam and St Joes by 7,11,8 and 23....but what do those teams all have in common..they all stink..think URI doesn't come out flat after their loss but comes out smoking...think Papa Hurley is sitting right behind his son...as soon as he see's something I'm sure he tells little Bobby to make an adjustment.. like give the ball to EC or Terrell and have everyone get out of the way"..URI will concentrate on stopping Pookie and BJ...

Strong plays Mizzou and then URI

Yest womans record not to be included with the mens...Title 9 capping rules
1-2 -14*'s

and Thad didn't know womans vigs are a lot more...that's unfair...
again sorry about the Lady bears...anybody want a a pink XL Longhorn t-shirt...only $151 ...need to pay the vig to break even..
hope everyone has a great day...just waiting by the phone for a Baylor cubbie

Hersh, you are right..I always get these kids mixed up..I remember basketball clinics at St Peters with the father..he would have these 2 little kids out there in the backround on the court shooting while he was doing his presentation.....who would ever think these 2 little boys are coaching at Ari St and URI...but thank you for the correction...I wonder if Pop flys out to Arizona to watch Danny and flys back to watch Bobby...and I know both sons at halftime have to ask him" what should I do"...Papa Hurley and Morgan Wooten are probably the 2 greatest coaches ever and both refused to coach in college...both offered many D-1 positions...both legends in NJ and Maryland...I'm so lucky I got to see them in about 3 or 4 clinics...Morgan was so straight and to the point...Hurley have everybody laughing..but everyone there learned something about basketball...
People always asked me when I retired "do you miss coaching"..I did some what but I missed those clinics probably more then anything...From Hubie Brown to Bobby Knight ,Al Mcguire{ my favorite},and of course Abe Lemons...didn't learn a thing from him but he should of been in Vegas....there are so many I got to hear and see...some were so bad we couldn't believe they were coaching...Brown of LSU was unreal...bring kleenx because his stories were so moving..Dean Smith sucked... His "T" offense ..Jud Heathcoate from Mich St got into a fight with 400 NY HS coaches..he was booed off and that was a year or 2 after coaching Magic Johnson...Pete Carrill was great ..Nolan Richardson,..etc..let me stop...

It's stuff like that which makes you a must read on this forum everyday even if I don't have the slightest urge to get in on the action!

Lot's of great coaches there. Al McGuire spoke at an awards banquet I was part of in Chicago back in '74. Great speaker. Also had the privilege to play against the Jud Heathcote coached Montana Grizzlies back in '75. Finished my college career in '76 playing against Tom Izzo where he was a senior guard at Northern Michigan. Lot' of great memories.
