thanks for explaining the thought process of sprint car racers. This same 'five minutes from' thinking could probably be applied to someone in a Corvette going over 140 on a two-lane highway.

I did over 120 MPH in a 73 Chevy Caprice in the middle of Death Valley no less. The heads lasted about twelve miles thear may still be smoking on the shoulder for all I know. I had to report for duty so I left the heap where it sat. Unfortunately, my Dad's half clubs were in the trunk......he missed those clubs in his final years but wtf I was busy trying to get Nole his nine iron back so that has to count for something..... I think mine had a regular Caprice hood though.
