If I come across something I'll post it. I just heard this chatter on a sports show I listen to every morning. The gentleman doing the talking isn't generally prone to bs'ing, except about the Cubs.

My girlfriend works as a nurse at a couple of hospitals and does in-home care as well. Generally people in hospitals for any variety of reasons will not receive the shot because their immune systems are at lower levels. All nurses and medical people do though. Anyone that is sick at any time is not suppose to get the shot.

Sorry to be short on this but that I posted what I had heard off the radio as I stated above.

thanks,i.o......from what i was told, all patients with immunodeficiency(chemo and radiation or chronic disease)should get the shot as soon as possible.....actually,my brother is on antibiotics and his dr. said definitely get the shot...

the vaccine contains a "dead" virus and should only have a side affect for a day or so,if at all.....

of course,i`m no doctor....just repeating what i`ve read and was told...

thanks for getting back on this...

I know that our government is supposed to provide for the general welfare of the population. But where does it start and end? Is it the responsibility of government to ensure that we all get three good meals a day? Is it the government's responsibility to see that everyone has strong teeth and bones? Is it the government's responsibility to cure all ills? In a wonderful world this would be nice. Sounds a little like socialism to me. Last time I looked the countries that provide the most Garden of Eden atmosphere to their citizens have tax rates right around 60%. I wish I had the answer. We have to draw a line somewhere in the sand but no one knows where we should draw it. If the government forced drug companies to produce vaccines in sufficient number and at a reasonable price, people would cry foul - what happened to our free economy, free market, etc. The only real solution is to raise taxes to such a high rate that everybody gets everything for free! Oops - that sounds like what Kerry is proposing. Bottom line is that we don't think of these kinds of things until we are affected by it and by then it is too late. If it is any consolation, I don't think it matters who is or is not president. This type of problem will continue.
