What if, and IMO it is a BIG if...

Ohio State loses...

...should Boise State be considered as National Champs or at least co-National Champs?

All they did was run the table on their schedule and win a BCS bowl game. They do come from a BCS conference, it would be hard to argue against it if the Buckeyes were to lose. Why should Florida be national champs w/ one loss if they were to win?

All I know, and I haven't made any play on the game yet but I will admit that I do lean to Ohio State because of coaching, is that I would LOVE for OSU to lose strictly on the principle that it would send the BCS into a tailspin and perhaps college football could nullify their contract w/ the stupid BCS kind of like the NBA did w/ the synthetic ball. It is rather unlikely I know, but if OSU wins it will really bail out the BCS.

What more can BSU do then what they did? If OSU loses and BSU isn't at least a shared national champion, then the system's flaws will be magnified 10-fold. Perhaps that is a good thing though.

...and another thing, and this arguement doesn't hold nearly as much water as if they lose, but even if OSU wins, couldn't it be debated that Boise St. should still share the title?

I wouldn't agree with it, but I think the arguement would have a little merit...

So Cal
The BCS NC is awarded to the winner of
BCS #1 vs #2. It's that simple.

It's possible the AP poll to have a different #1.
USC was #1 in 03 . Co NC's with LSU(bcs#2) who played OU(bcs#1) in the Sugar Bowl.

If Florida wins are they not worthy?

BSU has finished undefeated before.
They are just happy to get into a BCS game.
Those games(bcs) are worth millions of $$$
for the school.

I am fully aware of the logistics of the situation. I am simply suggesting that BSU might be worthy of being discussed and merely pointing out the obvious flaws of the BCS system.

More pointing out the flaws then making a case for BSU

I dont see what the big debate would be even if OSU loses. They are playing the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Boise is playing in the fiesta bowl.

Yes the BCS has flaws, but there have been much better examples of them than Boise even if OSU loses, like AU in 04. BCS wasn't cancelled after that, i dont know why it would be cancelled now.

I for one would love to see a playoff and watch Boise get their shit handed to them and stop all this talk of them being NC because they played the game of their lives against a team thats not even near the NC discussion.
