Mega Millions up to $222 Million. I got suckered into paying my $5 tax this week!

I become an idiot when it goes over $200 M. Not like $1 M wouldn't be enough!:D

As some of you may....or may not know...I work at a grocery store. Lottery, etc. Regardless, years ago I remember selling someone approaching me about one of the lottery games.

Customer: "What's tonight's jackpot?"
Me: "6 million"

Then, they walked away. This particular game has odds of 1:13,983,816 of winning the jackpot. Guess they figured they'd wait for the next increase in jackpot.

Irregardless to this, I got my 5 tickets. And I'll tell you'all something...I feel good about these numbers ;)

GL!

MegaMillions: 1 : 135,145,920 ......Han Solo said it best, "Never give me the odds!"

Yeah, I'm an idiot too at times when it comes to the lottery....

Usually wait till the Powerball gets into triple digits, then I throw a fiver at it.....I always tell people when it gets over a 100 mill then it's worth winning....

I can't help but remember a story I heard years ago.....I think Paul Harvey talked about it......some couple on the east coast.....North Carolinaish.....bank is coming in for thier house in like two days.....they throw like thier last 126 bucks on it and WIN THE GODDAMN THING!.....

Paid like 26 million....they go down to the bank the next day and tell the banker "guess what?"......

I throw a fiver at it thinking "what the hell"......yeah, maybe we are all idiots but then some idiot has to win this thing eventually???

Mega Millions odds are 131,000,000:1, I believe. So when it gets over that amount (excluding taxes) then is it a good bet?

60% of $222M is $133.2M--I'M IN!

I like Paul Harvey--always has interesting off the wall stuff.
---and speaking of off the wall stuff---I read somewhere that if you drive over 5 miles to purchase lottery ticket your chances were 8 times greater getting killed in auto accident then winning lottery.

I'll always pick up $5 if it gets over $100M and $10 over $200. Pisses me off though when these 98 year old coots win $400 Mil in the lottery. Whens the last time you saw a thiry year old single guy win it? And instead of saying "I'm going to save the money for my grandkids" he says hes going to blow it no Ferraris and hookers. We all know the odds, but in the end, someone has to win.

I'll usually throw 5 in when it reaches the 100 mil mark. I know it's like throwing money out the window, but for $5 to win millions, I'll roll the dice. Now slot machines on the other hand I almost never play, and never more than the change in my pocket.

Wisconsin got in the lottery business about 16/17 years ago. I dove in the first 4/5 months and then said. 6/7 bucks a week waisted. H-m thats 25/30 a month. Right into the 401k it went. Thank you mom for that idea.

Out of my $5, I had 1 number. Could I get odds on not getting any correct?
